I don't really like him as a performer. He's just average. And he doesn't sound like on his songs at all.

He brings more energy into his voice as a performer because he wouldn't been rocking stadiums with his chill voice :b:

I wouldn't go to a concert though were he doesn't get people pumped. I guess I can see where you are coming from, but I disagree. Let the chill vibe stay on the iPod and let the explosive energy come out in the shows. He's not the only hip-hop artist that does this.

Well, then make music that you could perform at stadiums. Don't change your whole delivery/song because it's not fit to concerts. This is what rappers do. That's why Eminem doesn't perform Drug Ballad, but The Way I Am at big shows. Ya dig?

Slightly off, but does anyone else love Eminem's grammy Stan performance? He sounds so much more passionate in it. I listen to that version much more that the original version. I just wish it wasn't edited.

Most of Kendrick's tracks are chill doe, I'm sure he's not going to sacrifice what he wants on an album in order to make sure it kills stadiums, because after all more people will hear the album then hear it in person. I'd rather it this way, all he's doing his making his voice more intense, and it works soooooo....

did you see his performance on Jimmy fallon yesterday ? =p the performance sounds even better than the song imo, I was rly surprised to see an hip hop artist doing that

I have high expectations for live performance, even eminem doesn't always give me pleasure (playback sometime or just rap over his original verses sometime)

Actually, I love Kendrick Lamar. I really do, I'm anticipating this album as much as you, I posted Compton on facebook as soon as it got released, and he was on my cover picture.

But his performances are usually shit, the Jimmy Fallon one doesn't even sound good to me.. I don't know.

it's ok if you don't like, but if you hate that performance of swimming pools, I bet you don't like swimming pools at all  he decided to rap over the chorus but the verses were good, can't even see a lot of difference with the studio track

Still love his performances, I went to his concert in Norfolk and it was the best show I've been to in a long while.

I do love Swimming Pools. His verses on the song are melodic and smooth, and they're just "rapping" on a beat on the performance. That's why I don't like it as much.
