Why have more rappers not used the Slaughterhouse formula?

Postby classthe_king » Oct 18th, '12, 15:56

Regardless of what you think about the group as a whole or the individual rappers you cannot deny it was extremely beneficial to everyone involved. Each member in Slaughterhouse got a huge boost in their individual career, receiving the fans of the other 3 members as well as the new fans garnered when the hype surrounding them was huge, and the group as a whole has had success, they got signed to Interscope and had the opportunity for mainstream success. They were on an Eminem tape, and that was huge exposure. I don't think any of the four members would be even close to where they are at today without it (Joe Budden might be the exception). I mean, I had never even heard of Crooked I or Joel Ortiz before the group formed.

So what I'm wonder is, why haven't more underground artists tried forming super groups to take advantage of a formula that seemed to work fairly well?

Also, Nino Bless has to feel so fucked over lmao
You think your personal attacks make up for what you lack?

They have, you had The HRSMN for example, and other collectives formed of lyrical rappers teetering on the edge of success, but, they just never got far.
