WOW.
What a brilliant fucking album.
SLLF was one of the best hip-hop releases of 2010, and I was hoping this one would be up to par.
It isn't. It fucking SURPASSED his debut by a mile. I'm blown away right now.
Every song is just perfect in its own right. The beats are orgasmic to say the least.
Big Boi sounds as sharp as ever, with flows and rhymes that make you wonder why this man is always in the shadow of his other musical half, André 3000. Because he really shouldn't be. Although the album may seem feature-heavy, it really doesn't feel that way, probably because it doesn't have too many rap features. The rappers that ARE featured on the album hold their own on every song though. T.I. shows the world why he's the King of the South on "In The A", and Ludacris surprisingly has a good verse on there too. The rest of the rappers have great verses too. This album is filled with stellar production, & hooks from Phantogram, Kid Cudi & Little Dragon (among others) are fantastic. VLADR has a very spacey vibe to it, while it still feels very down to earth. (sounds weird haha)
All in all, I give this album a 9.5/10, & a very strong 9.5 at that. Almost a perfect 10.
Well played, Big Boi. Well played.
