Jon Ramana debut EP (ft. Joey Bada$$, Charles Hamilton)

Postby JonRamana » Dec 8th, '12, 04:24

I shouldn't have uploaded a low quality BS freestyle recorded on a webcam. Don't judge off that. I got out of Chicago earlier than expected and now have only two tracks left to record for my release. Check out my CDQ track, you won't be disappointed. Or maybe you will, who knows. THe EP is coming soon, I''m still waiting on Joey's verse and mastering.

I apprecaite anyone who checks it out. i realize it may be weird promoting my shit on a forum i went to years ago, but i really know so few people in this world who i'm close to, i have nothing else to do. i have maybe 6 friends, none of whom are currently within 200 miles of me. and i have 17 minutes left on my phone. Thanks, peace.

thanks man, here's kinda my story from ane arlier post if you didnt see it...

Hey, lemme introduce myself. My name's Jon Ramana, I rap, my story is, in my opinion, fairly interesting. I won't spill it all as that's what my album is for, but I'd like to use this thread to build/stay in touch with a fanbase. I came to TR because I use to post here like 5/6/7 years ago or something, don't remember my name then. I think I uploaded some tracks way back. I've been homeless more years of my life than not. I have no biological family, I don't know my birthday, but I'm 24. Or 25, not sure. I have a 4th grade education, but taught myself off of libraries, book stores, etc.

All music I did was in local scenes, mostly in LA, I had a good buzz. I have met/worked with a good deal of people who made it, most notably Kendrick. I had a verse on his first tape back when he was KDot or whatever. I don't know him tho. I was signed on a demo deal (get money to produce a demo, and if they like it, they have the option to sign you) to a fairly well known label. My debut ep/album/whatever was recorded in 2006, I have 0 access to it since I was cut and don't have the tracks. Why I was cut is for various reasons, but my upcoming music will explain. Mostly due to being stupid, robbing another artist at gunpoint, getting shot myself, etc. I'll go into that later. It kills me that I don't have access to that first tape, it was fucking great. Had a feature from Glasses Malone and Jay Electronica, before he was famous and signed (met him in a shelter believe it or not).

I 100% believe I could have blown up, should have blown up. Fuck it tho. I have my debut written and ready for recording. I'm working with an agent who can get me on track. I have features lined up with Joey Bada$$, Res, and my friend Charles Hamilton. I am flying to NY in January to begin recording. Til then, i'm living at the Jireh House (a shelter) in Chicago. I am currently recording on a USB mic I bought at a Goodwill, on a Windows 2000 laptop at the shelter. I'll upload a track soon. All music I had ever made was on a jump drive i lost when a studio I was recording in (read: living in without the owner knowing) caught fire.

So, basically, hi. Feel free to ask me questions. I'd appreciate if you shared my music when I post it, if you fuck with it.

Don't be so cocky dude. The second I read your PM and you said "but im just giving the heads up, imma be big". Man...you know how many people think they're gonna blow up?

However, you're OK. I wasn't a fan of the production though. Or maybe your voice just doesn't fit on a track like that.

But what exactly are you saying? "Trust none, cuz all they want are your trust funds."

That's such an age old topic...if you're going to rap about trust or loyalty, use your creative juices and put a nice little spin on it. Don't be so direct with it. So many up-and-coming rappers have done that before.

You do have a nice flow, but you need to sound more enthusiastic. And minimize the voice effects, you almost ruined that "pass the reefer/I'm gonna blow this beat to ashes" line.

That's all I gotta say.

nah understandable.

ya it' s true, tho i'm not fronting like i was some hugely connected person. my verse with kendrick was just because i was a friend of one of his friends (read: i bought drugs from his friend). we werent friends, he wouldn't recognize me today. and remember this was before he was KENDRICK LAMAR, hhe honestly wasn't really good. that tape has tons of noones. its more coincidence, not like I "made it" and got a verse. kinda the same with jay electronica, we met when we stayed in the same place for a week and did a song. it was dope, but nothing special. doubt he'd remember me either. and when i say i've worked with other people who made it, most of them aren't household names but dudes like glasses, hes bout as big as they get.

i suppose tongue in cheek doesnt translate via wireless communication...

and thats literally one line lol not the topic of the song at all. basically brief intro to life, my in specific. music, brief relationships, robbery, violence, girls. all fueled courtesy of ms mary jane and "bright lights" aka what i see when running on tar aka heroin, thus leading to living my lifeline, aka floating by on a last chance. a product of "bright lights" indeed. the project is titled pharmacology not by a random chance, remind you.

and ironically, one of the last lines is "listen close, don't misinterpret". please do so.

i'm not offended, if you dont fuck with it perfectly fine, but i enjoy sharing the narrative.

Shirtless pics aren't gay but with you being skinny as a pole with that gay ass haircut and earrings and all those tattoos looking to the side like that with the light on you looks extremely feminine
