Things Rappers Say That You Don't Buy Into?

Postby Slim Fiasco » Dec 16th, '12, 18:04

"Once a fan told me that my music prevented him from committing suicide (or insert random harsh life issue)". Yeah right, and this is especially annoying when it comes from someone with a fan base of 2 people. I've heard Hopsin say it to name one.

I thought I was the only one who surreptitiously rolled their eyes when artists say this.
@cheeseburger- completely see where you're coming from. Music is a medium that real can move and guide people. I really can't think of a world without music.
But when artists slightly exaggerate the power of their music makes me cringe a bit. There's one artist who does it alot but I can't remember who...

edit: MGK. I'm a fan of his music and can see and understand the power of the whole Lace Up movement but sometimes, i dunno, I think its a bit OTT. I guess if I was more of a hardcore fan I would understand. Sorry if any MGK fans were offended in the making of this post

Well, MGK fans are really hardcore. If you saw the amount of fans who have tattoos and how they're dedicated to him, you would understand. They're like Bieber fans lmao.

I have a hard time believing artists who say that too, though.

"I'm the best" Is a give me.

Em does this a lot, and sorry if this offends anyone, but I just don't buy this "All I have is rap"

Hailie. Dre. Money. Girls. Mansion. Umm..

Like, I have a strong passion for rap myself. I wouldn't want to quit, but I would if I had to for a loved one.
