Even tho most of TR is a part of the Kendrick Lamar circle jerk, but I'd like to hear from you, who is better?

I'm more a J. Cole fan than Kendrick, but it changes. Mainly because of Cole's sound.

The 2 are clearly standout talents but imo, Kendrick Lamar is better by far.

- Lyrically, Kendrick Lamar is one of the best artists I have ever heard: his story telling skill is on Top and there are a lot of complex & unpredictable rhymes on his album even if you don't find them on every song.
J cole's storytelling skill is average, his stories left me cold.
- I agree with IamANoob, kdot has more unique flows and voice changes... J cole sounds the same on most of his songs, I can see him becoming a new Drake in a few years. (It's not a bad thing coz I don't consider drake as a bad artist)
- Kendrick is one of the few artists who doesn't compromise on his albums, he sounds like he’s rapping for himself and he became the best male seller of the year.
Even if J cole released good singles, can we say the same about his album ? well, I can't.
- Kendrick spent time and energy on his songs... the album executed a fucking brilliant concept maintaining fluidity throughout and I can't really say the same for J cole who put a few fillers in his album. It's my opinion of course but I can see that shit as a lack of creativity.
- I can't get into j cole that much even If I like some of his songs.

I'll give a good point to j cole because he can make great chorus and produce his own songs even if some beats from his album sound the same... lack of creativity again.
