Dizaster vs. Truth

Postby EminemBase » Feb 28th, '13, 21:49

Truth won easy. Diz was pretty weak, sometimes embarrassing...

First time I saw Diz was against Canibus and thought that was amazing... I've watched a few since then, he can be good, but he can also be pretty fucking lame tbh, so much endless blather in every battle about stomping and smashing and a bunch of generic written shit that could be on a track.

Watched him against DNA and Truth now - both manage to keep it so much more personal and coherent. An easy way to destroy Diz is to just write a whole segment mocking his generic violent bars which aren't aimed at his opponent and just written to rhyme and impress... because he falls back on that shit so much and would look stupid if he did after you point it out and mock it.

It's especially cringing when he falls back on it near the end, because it's random and not aimed at Truth at all, it's just a fucking aimless written about really stupid corny violence lmao.

Truth had a nice bit about him pacing etc. though lmao.

He was corny as fuck lmao... what good lines did he have?

Truth's bit about Diz' panting was better than anything I heard from Diz... other than that he just did his usual 'scream fast random violence in your face' in between fumbling.

Meh.

Seriously, these battles need some beats and some time constrains. Less is more, and there should be like 2-3 rounds with verses from 40 seconds to 1:30.

It's a hard concept for me but.. How can you hit the snare, or even be on beat while freestyling off the top? Like you really have to be talented to say shit that flows lol, I don't know.

But these battles are written so I guess I just answered my question.

I enjoyed Diz voice and deliver more, better charisma. The other dude looked like he should be on the Geographic channel or something.

Diz killed me with the while and black jokes lmao

Name a killer line from him...

Any attempt at being personal was really broad and weak, and other than that he just rambled aimless violence which is really written and doesn't hit hard because it can be said to anybody.

What lines in particular do you think won the battle?

Sitting through like 20 minutes of guys talking to each other without any music is boring lol.

Exactly man, I get annoyed just by seeing that the video is 20 minutes long. I'll admit that I've seen some real cool battles on KOTD, like with Pat Stay and Kid Twist, but still, it got boring after 5 videos or so.

You don't need to hit the snare or anything to ride a beat man. If you know how to ride a beat, you can do it regardless, and also it's way more easier with freestyling. Since, when you freestyle you just stack the words as they come to you more naturally. There's gonna be a lot of filler ish though.

bigray wrote:I am at work now and cant really type down which lines I liked, I just prefer his type of battling over many battlers.

The first round everything Diz said like hit home and at the end especially with the black jokes..(how the white guy would shove him self in a locker etc)

He also mentioned the American vs ??? (where the dude is from)

He talked about football/soccer.

I really like Diz...he is my favorite battler.

Yeah but I'd normally agree... like, he FUCKED Canibus up. Everybody says anybody could have done it but he got into his psyche, like how Em would but, in an even more everyday way where you would insult somebody in a debate kind of style, which I loved.

So this for me, was disappointing... I think all he knows of the UK is kind of, cliche and broad images and so that's all he really touched on in the odd line, other than that I don't feel he did much damage. The locker thing was alright but, other than that... meh, I think Truth was more clever and consistent and had a lot more lines that actually meant things, and were more specific.

Diz saying things like "I'll destroy you" and these broad strokes of violence is pretty corny lmao, sounds like a comic book character. Bashing people up is so 90s, you need to come with some real humour and psychological break-down now.

Dizaster is such a cornball. His constant yelling delivery is so overdone and annoying. People will always cheer for the guy who is much louder because he appears much more menacing and it makes it seem like he's saying something of value...when he's not. Truth destroyed him within the first couple of minutes; the Uncle Abdul line, the "bitch named Dizaster" line, and the Assalumu Alaikum rhyme line was pretty funny.

Battling is better than music IMO, ya I said it.
These dude schemes and multies are incredible, along with the obvious punches
You don't get a beat holding you back, just everything about it is great if you watch a good battler.
Anyone who says its boring is someone who doesn't appreciate punches, or has not watched a good battler

And rewatched this, diz won easily... Basically factual.
The race jokes truth used are sooooo played, I'm guessing blu hasn't watched many of diz battles to see them used against him, cause there was nothing clever about them.
Diz whole mason punch, and his I'd rather be fake then be the truth like you. Nice.

Not his best battle but easily won

No way he won.

He was weak... maybe it's because I'm British and any attempt at a UK stab I know was weak as hell but to a non-Brit maybe it sounded better...

All race jokes are played as hell but Truth was still consistently personal and had more actual jabs about his character compared to a bunch of shit Diz could have said to anyone.

Diz can be beastly but I've also noticed he can be lazy and barely prepare. I think DNA got him too.
