Strong words from Talib Kweli Monday as he addressed the recent controversy over Rick Ross' rap verse on the song U.O.E.N.O., in a HuffPost Live segment hosted by Marc Lamont Hill.

While Ross seems to have chalked the controversy surrounding his lyrics up to some unspecified "misunderstanding," many are not buying his explanation.

"Rick Ross condoned rape in that song ... and he should apologize, and his apology that he offered was unacceptable." Kweli continued.

BUUUT Then again.. Eminem is well known for his tongue-in-cheek, and his crazy ass attitude. Not to mention his slim shady persona who's basically a pass for everything.

Now Rick Ross.. His music, he presents it in a form that implies he's really living the things he's rapping about. That's why people hate how he's claiming to be such a gangster while he was an officer.

That's why it's shocking for people.

Art is never supposed to be censored, if done correctly. People are pissed over it cause it's the typical club track and Ross is talking about something he may very well have done. I mean I don't think anyone believes Eminem went to a rave with Ron and Dave and gave a chick a whole bag of shrooms or kidnapped a chick at the laundromat named Tonya.

Eminem did it for a reason, Ross did it because he probably thought that line was dope. I wonder if he was hesitant to even put the line down in the first place.

The visuals in the music video caught my interest more than the remix. Ross's flow doesn't catch me and I don't like his subject matter.
