(7-14-09) 50 Cent Droping Same Day as Jay-Z

50 Cent is gearing up for another battle, this time with fellow New York rapper, Jay-Z. Reports say that the G-Unit general will release his new "Before I Self Destruct" album on September 11th, the same day that Jay-Z is dropping his "Blueprint 3." 50 previously took on Kanye West in a highly publicised battle (which Kanye won) on September 11th of 2007. Kanye's "Graduation" album pushed close to 957,000 units the first week while 50's "Curtis" did around 691,000 (rollingstone).

Lmfao you know you really honestly HAVE to love 50's business mind. He knows he's not developing the hype he needs to be with the tracks he's released. He knows people aren't all excited about him like they were with The Massacre. So what does this mother fucker do? He takes on one of the most recognizable faces in the industry in a head to head battle just to make sure any and ALL publicity from EITHER album is GOOD publicity for both of them.

I'm buying both. I prefer Jay-Z as an artist much more than 50 Cent, in fact he's one of my favorites. I'm buying 50 Cent's album because I've supported his music since GRODT and I still want to support him. Plus, Jay-Z I feel hasn't released anything too good yet (I personally think D.O.A. was average). The same with 50 Cent but I hyped up a bit more with his War Angel LP. So in general I support them both the same even though I know Jay-Z is better.


50 is gonna lose this pretty badly if he lost that badly to Kanye.
