That happens because usually whever an English person is presented on our American television, they have a strong accent, giving us the impression that everyone in England has a cockney voice.

I can imagine a lot of Americans on non-US TVs have hillybilly accents.

Yeah I can see why Americans would think that of english people. Because of so many TV shows and Movies that come out of the US though, I don't think non americans generally would have those stereotypes as much.

A really old Em radio interview he did here in Australia had him attempting our accent briefly, was funny, the interview was awkward as though.

The english accent was funny. He does a few impressions though, the yoda one he did was the best.
