And a different issue: the rules should have to be that you have to write your rhymes in common time 4/4 BARS as opposed to lines. Here's why:

In bars, it would actually look like this:

your sig is kevin spacey but to put some space between us I can make/ spacey made to suck my ...

Because the "I can make" falls in the upbeat of the 4th beat (as a double-time quarter note triplet), it's still technically part of the first bar.
But in lines, one might assume that the upbeat begins on a downbeat, which would disrupt the flow to the reader.
But if I put the way the bars would look in line form, then some rap newbie might mistakenly think that I can't rhyme.
So my impeccable flow (yes, I can rap my shit perfectly) doesn't come through like it should.
I'm thinking fuck this. This rap battle shit should be done audio, or else you CANNOT choose one flow over the other. Every rapper has their own flow, but that won't come out on screen.
I know I'm new to this forum, but I've probably been a musician and rapper longer than most of you. I DO know what I'm talking about.

No, it doesn't go both ways.
It discriminates against more complex flows because simpler flows are just easier to follow (not yours specifically, but anyone's).
I know I sound bitchy, believe me. I just don't agree with the criterion.
Another thing, Coleon, is I honestly have to call bullshit on your little asterisk "explaination" after your last line.
In a real battle, you know that would never fly. I mean, you can't just spit your last line then say "oh yeah, if you didn't quite catch that last line, that meant...".
Rhymes shouldn't need a commentary, they should BE the commentary. Can you disagree with that statement?
Bottomline, this stuff should be strictly fun, not competition.
I know this is TEXT battling, but I agree with wic_kid, text battling kind of sucks.
This is meant to be done the old fashioned way, ya know? REAL spitting.

My fault. I didn't read about the voting categories before the battle. I'm just surprised that you, obviously a very good, legitimate rapper from what I've read, would even bother with this flawed texting stuff. I don't get that. I guess you just enjoy it a lot more than I do.

Sorry Cole, I'm gonna close this as a tie, because as I said I think the criterion thing is bullshit.
Even I would say our verses are even. Mine had the edge in sheer complex lyricism but yours definitely had the wordplay and insults.
If anything I think I focused a little TOO much on being lyrical without real disses. So in my eyes, the battle would probably go to you because your verse actually attacked me lyrically while mine just picked a topic and went off on it. That Scottish Nazi, kilt you line was brilliant.
