need help wit equipment

dude on my block is gettin a computer wit good recordin n beat makin shit....said hes gettin the latest fruity loops...said he likes my ideas for beats..but ive never used beat makin anything in my life...how would i bring my ideas into a actual beat?

learn to make the drumline and how to use fruityloops etc..


Listen to a lot of soul/alternative/rock music to spot samples.


nothing to it but practice, first u make what u can, then wen u get to the point where u can recreate anything u think of then ur on the top of ur game.

When i first started production work i'd find a beat that i like, try to recreate it but with my own little touches on it such as changing the drum pattern or playing with the bassline.

This gets you to better understand the creative process etc.

Once you understand how everything works you will have the ability to turn a tune in your head into a masterpiece!!!

also don't be afraid to experiment with your sound!
