Were learning about the holocaust in school and one of the kids asked how the holocaust was taught in Germany. My teacher did research and couldn't find anything so i said i would try and find out.

Basically when you learned about the holocaust how did they teach it. Did they teach it as a good thing that happened or a bad thing or did they just teach it and not give any opinions. I'm not trying to offend anyone i was just curious.

of course they try to teach it unopinionated (if thats a word)......but i'm sure they have osme bias towards it being a bad thing...its not like hitler's family is still in demand...he did quite a horrid thing...and only the idiotic people still share his beliefs and what not......

That's a very interesting question.

I know for certain that Japan tries to ignore the fact that its participation in World War II and her countless massacres in China even existed.

On the other hand, Germany... I don't know.

I would like to find out though.

when american schools teach about japan bombing america, they try to make it sound bad. but when they say america bombed entire cities and babies were born without eyes due to radiation, they don't make it opinionated at all, and throw in some laughter on south park.

like 9/11, america tries to make it sound bad. in germany, (and japan and iraq), why wouldn't they do the same thing?

as chambers said its very unopinionated (?)...and its just like a small sub-topic on the whole world war 2 thing...they teach,we observe or chew gum... we all know it was a horrible thing to do... and there is no excuse.. but we got the attidude that hitler and his dudes did all that...
so its all in the past,we doesnt really feel guilty about it... its just a bad feeling to know that the world judges whole germany for this holocaust... anywayz
yes its a bad thing but again teachers dont give any opinion on the topic itself...just the human state of mind tells you it was a bad thing..
but then again a lil off topic...our history lessons are always about hitler and world war II...no egypt history or china history or other shit...is every country so tied to their own history?
