English isnt my first language and even so, i think this doesnt really make sense, as a slang it sounds corny to me IF its a slang

almost everyone says it like this

like for example a sentence like this one here

"You should've been doing this"

its said like

"You should of been doing this"


clear this up for me

there's no such phrase as "should of"... the slang part you're talking about is when people are pronounce the abbreviated "should've", which sounds like they're saying should of when they're really saying the shorter version of should have... which is should've, hope this all makes sense
