PSP or iTouch?

Postby aleXander » Dec 22nd, '09, 00:12

Well I want to buy myself a PSP Slim 3004 or an iTouch 2nd generation 8 GB. But I can't really decide what to chose.
If you were me, I would like to know what the hell would you buy and why?
In my country (Romania) I could get a PSP (brand new) with about 170 euros(about 240$).
An iTouch would be 205 euros(295 $).
About getting it from the "black market" - maybe I would buy a PSP from it but never an itouch.

?????

I had an iPod so it's kinda very cool but God Of War on my friend's PSP is very addictive. :sweating:
So...what and why? And how much would that be in your country?

Thanx

PSP no doubt. It's cheaper, can still access the internet (maybe not as well as the iTouch though) it can store pictures and music just like an iTouch and its got sick games...Most people complain about the game library for PSPs though because they don't choose good games themselves. If you do happen to get a PSP, hit me up and I can give you suggestions of non shitty PSP games, cause hell believe me you can go wrong with a game that has a nice cover.

iPod Touch. Jailbreak it, of course, and you can even get Gameboy games or PlayStation 1 games on your iTouch, converted version of course. Runs pretty smoothly. :y:

PSP. It can store songs, play vids, play TEKKEN 6, Final Fantasy 13 Agito, and many many more. And if you like PS1, you can play the games on PSP!!! :worship: :worship: :worship: :worship: :worship:

you mean PS1? Just get the PS1 emulator for PSP and then save it in the game folder or something like that. You need to check for the specific instructions online. ;) I used to play Digimon on my PSP. LOL. I completed FF7 on PSP. But take note that some games don't work unless you patch them. I'm not sure how to do that. :D

But I got something much cooler in my PSP which is Gamboy Advance Emulator. I can play Pokemon Emerald in my PSP!!! :worship: :worship: :worship:

You need to have the knowledge and the right model of PSP to hack it though. I don't know if the recent PSPs are hackable (but I'm sure eventually they will) and I'm certain PSP Go's cannot have custom firmware right now. Then again I bought my PSP a long time ago and haven't been up to date with recent PSP hacking news. However you can still buy PS1 games through the PSN store if you don't plan to hack/pirate games.

As for the original question, if you want a device to listen to music mainly and don't plan to play much games or watch movies- pick the iTouch. If you want a device to play games mostly and listen to music occasionally, pick the PSP. One is a gaming device, one is an audio player. Sure there are cross-overs, but they each excel at what they are meant to do and once you decide what you need/want more, the choice should be much easier. Hope that helps :D.
