you go onto websites with a different IP, so i can access a page through (for example) an american IP, so if i wanna go on the mtv website and watch something, i can.

you must know what a proxy is though

if you have a UK ip you cant use pirate bay.. i dont use torrents though, sometimes thwe occasional zip file because its safer but no torrents
