99%, bit of a stupid statistic really. I'm sure there's many people who aren't wannabe idealistic idiots, and i'm one of them.

I dont support that at all. If you know how to write, but you suck at rappin, stick to the internet. And if you wanna rap, get a fuckin pen and a notepad and write your own shit. Thats what I think. Cuz nobody wants to be a pilot who's afraid of heights, so get another job...

I think that ghostwritin is one of the things thats ruinin hip hop, along wit Lil Wayne.

i wouldn't choose any of these choices but sometimes i do agree that artists should write their own shit, however some artists sound better when other ppl write verses for them. and if i wrote for somebody, i would just be myself with the lyrics and never go out of my realm i.e. gangster. i'd just tell about how it is if somebody else could tell the story better than me since i'd have a bad rapping voice...
oh yeah... and thanks for nothing too

chambers wrote: ^first off it wasn't a diss...if i could be born into that i'd easily trade it so calm your pistons sparky

but leading to my point....some people don't have the money or motivation to go through 8 years of school.....for example.....i was going to be a doctor....and got about 2 years into it and could honestly say that after 8 years of non stop schooling plus the fact that its a job that takes over your life......i didn't think i could go through with it all nor did i want it bad enough where i'd sacrifice my already near empty life to follow through....so i switched options.....

my point is...its cool if you don't think no one's going to make it..i've seen you say it about 8 times now......but the fact that you...some1 who's already got it made...could sit here and SHIT on other ppl's hopes and dreams who have it less fortunate then you....says alot abotu the type of person you are...cuz i'm all about "keeping it real" and being "realistic".....but theres a fine line between "being realistic" and being a "rich snob"......i'll let you decide which you are............

i have not already got it made. my dad is quite sensible and makes me earn my own money, he is not my bank, you know. i can't just say. daddy, can i have some money please? 'cause he won't give it to me. i make money my own ways, and i'm pretty good at that too, and sometimes i do some design/advertising work for my dad, and he pays me for that. (i'm doing media design and advertising/digital imagery at university)

i'm not 'shitting on anyone's dreams', i'm just stating my opinion that no one on here is going to become famous through rapping, that is a silly pipe dream. i'm not being a rich snob at all. i'm not even rich. just well off. if i was rich, trust me i would have an amazing car, my own house and whatever, but i'm not, i can't afford that. my dad can, but like i said, he want's me to be independent.

being motivated to work is easy. all you've got think about is the revenue you'll be getting when it's all over. and like you said about the doctor thing, obviously, if it's not something you enjoy doing, it's not going to work out, which is why i picked the course i'm doing now, it's a lot of fun for me, as well as being educational and getting a valuable masters degree at the end will be well worth the hard work.

it's a fact that if you sit around writing lyrics and attempting to rap, instead of getting your head down and going to college, you will not get a good job, the best you could hope for is stocking shelves at your local supermarket, or something similar.

i know this from experience. my stepbrother (who used to be on here) flunked through school and dropped out of college. and now what's he doing? working in a clothes store 9 hours a day for barely over minimum wage pay. he regrets dropping out, and wishes he was doing what i was doing. this is what is going to happen to most of the people on here who prioritise their rapping over their school work. it's harsh reality.

don't say i've got it made, i really have not. my family have, but i've got to make it on my own. just like everyone else. you just have to find the motivation, and that's what i've done. and don't give me bullshit about having to pay to go to college, that's not true. it's a loan, they loan you the money, and when you come out with a degree and get your first job, you start paying it back, like £15 a month. until you've paid it back fully. it's not like you have to pay it all upfront. we have people at my University who can't even afford to buy a sandwich at lunch, but they still at uni. so don't give me that bullshit about not being able to afford it.

good luck with your live's people. but don't expect revenue if you ent working for it. no pain, no gain.

^ahhh silly mother fucker...

yes....you are "better off"......your dad even tho he "won't" help you....can "still" help you.....if by some freak of nature fall into a 2000 euro debt....then yes...he can...and will give you the money.......if most ppl fall into that debt......their fucked...they can't even get it from family or friends cuz guess what....most of them are just as broke......

and as far as the "can't afford" shit.....don't talk.......cuz liek i said you still got money.......regardless.....your dad still pays you for your shit.........i just spent about $600 of my own money to take a math class i did not well in....so please save that speech about motivation and not being able to afford shit.....cuz i'm broke as shit and still fighting for my shit.....

you are shitting on people's dreams...there was a thread already mad on this and you stated your opinion.....4 times in there.....then about 4 times in here you said it again......your either shitting on people's dreams so much you enjoy it (characteristic of a rich snob)....an attention whore (nothing needs said)...or both......and you can still "make" it as an underground rapper.....some prolly make more money then you will once you finish your course guidelines...so please don't give me that.....some are also producers.....and if they really wanna get into it can make about 5k a beat...not bad for just sitting around and toying around huh?

point of this post?...don't speak on shit you are not educated on........i'll let this argument just die out now cuz i can see you getting quite upset @ what i'm saying....so i bid you good day

not to take sides here but there are alot of things u can do in this industry without necesserily getting behind the mic. Music is always a collaborative effort and there will always be shit to do to earn loads of money without actually performing vocals which i agree u ahve to be pretty damn good at to blow up

Smartest thing you can do (if you can afford it) is to juggle both. Work your ass trhough school to have atleast something to fall back on...
