Patty derives from Patrick...I don't see how it's "Paddy" granted it sounds like that.
Over here Paddy is a nickname for Patrick, and some people refer to Irish people as "Paddys", its no big deal though I just never knew that people in other countries pronouce it as Patty's, either way enjoy yourself
