ok, im not into a mixture of hip hop and R&B. i like raw hardcore rap. R&B in any form is pussy shit

Roots are not a mixture of R&B, if u dont like melodic music that doesnt mean they are not good. I dont like Metal rock that much, thats why i dont judge it.

well...u listen to eminem albums and u think he sucks but yet u still download The Re-Up and listen to all of the songs that he has put out

I don't think eminem sucks. I own all his albums. I didn't buy the re-up though, coz i didnt like it.

and i own ZERO g-unit albums from any g-unit artist. so i guess u are more of a roots-stan than i am a g-unit-stan. congrats roots-stan

I dont put the roots on a pedistal. and dont compare them to rappers of completely different categories.. like i dont compare them with rakim, coz i think rakim has more lyrical skills than musical.

its kinda hard to compare two artists when they arent IN THE SAME FUCKIN GENRE!!! dipshit
but yes, according to soundscan and fans, she is

Its not hard, britney is not a good singer, everybody knows that, shes a pop-star, and has groupies. thats why she sells. The corralation is that anybody in g-unit can go platinum the same way.

A good artist will be recognized and honored even he only goes gold, plus some people make music for music, not money.

ok, this is pointless. im sick and tired of arguing. ive been through enough shit in real life and i dont feel like adding this to the list. look, ur opinion is ur opinion and my opinion is my opinion. i dont care for the roots and u do. thatll never change. and trying to persuade someone one way or another get us nowhere. i respect all hip hop artists who actually make good music. and even though i dont listen to the roots i still respect them.

im done with this argument.
lets just put this thing to bed. we're getting way off topic. ok?

No...there's plenty of that in (mainstream) Hip Hop, which I think contributes to it's decline. A lot of artists have talent, but just care about the money. I used to like 50 Cent a lot. Get Rich or Die Trying was a great album and I really liked his verse in Eminem's "Never Enough." But now his songs have lost inspiration and all he he recycles the same stuff . Anyways, I'll admit I'm an Eminem fan, but I think his songs have a lot more meaning than most of the mainstream artists. I'm not a hip hop expert, but I think artists like Fort Minor, Obie Trice, and Chamillionaire are a lot better to listen to than most of the stuff out there. I especially liked his new video. Had creativity, something that is also missing in mainstream Hip Hop.

Well l8ly I've been watching music TV and it's always full of shit but what I liked was this only program which came out in which this DJ came out saying stuff about the old school. He showed a video of MC Lyte in 87 then public enemy in 88, paid in full....it was good cause he was showing the old school music which was gr8 and then he was showing music as years passed till 96. But the rest after that program was the typical shit with MC's with money and cars....

I was sarcastic, since that's the most common topic rappers rap about lately.

Apparently lots of people since they're making millions.
Hiphop went from a form of self expression to a quick way to become a millionaire with little talent and work. I can't blame half-assed rappers for grabbing at the opportunity to say "two step, two step" to a beat and become filthy rich from it.
I saw a commercial the other day, something about "hip hop and it's culture." Then right after that it said "rims, bling, girls, etc etc." Is THAT what "hiphop" has become? Half-naked women, lots of money, shiny cars, diamonds? I thought it was about a struggle, I thought it was about discovery. Hiphop USED to mean something and as of lately it's a whole bunch of nothing and the founders would be ashamed, could they see what the genre has turned into.
I could keep ranting but it's not even 10 am yet and my brain hasn't started functioning yet.
Yes, we can.

but everything needs to rationed, lol. Ego-trips.

yes
It's ok to have a few songs that have no point
but when every song has lyrics that my three year old cousin could think up....("like this, like this, like this, like this"????) it makes my blood boil. Hiphop really needs someone to bring it back. And no, their name is not Mims, or ANYTHING with "Lil" or "Young" included.
