do it the hard way....counting beats :p I used to do that lol...I was counting the beats and counting the seconds and I made a division to find the bpm...now I just use FL tempo detector!

counting beats isn't hard  all you need is a good ear :smoking:

yeah, but it takes a lot of time compared to the tempo detector in FL studio lol... and yeah Harlem, in FL studio, when you load a sample (a song for example) it can detect the tempo... it's not that good for acapellas though, but for beats, it's quite precise

lol, I know how to do it, it's extremely easy, especially in rap music...but listening to the full song to get the exact bpm takes a few minutes, and with FL, it takes less than 2 seconds... it's like a calculator! do you do long calculations on paper, or you use a calculator? ;)

and how is using your ear like doing a long calculation on paper? you don't really need to write anything down you just sit there and think like mental math :p :)

yeah, well, I used to count the beats until I get to like 16 or 32, and then I checked how many seconds it took to get 16 beats or 32 beats, and then I made a division to get the number of beats per minute (bpm)! but now I use that tempo detector cause it's faster :p
