Even though I did not watch the entire video yet I want to comment on what you're saying.
You are absolutely right about the fact that psychiatry is much more. Especialy for psychiatrists. The biggest blame there is should be towards the pharmaceutical industries.
The fact is that in the end all drugs are sold rather for profit then for health purpose. Of course, a drug will need to hold specific health improving properties to be sold in the first place. But unfortunately it is the truth that if there were 2 drugs similar potential, with one have either more side effects or being less effective, but being more profitable for the producing company, it will most likely be used by more people. This is because the pharmaceutical companies promote their drugs among the doctors and such.
So again, the problem is not necessarely the doctors or psychiatrists, it's not even the pharmacologist, which is often portrayed as an evil being in a white lab coat. It is but the company that's going in for the mass production.
My mom's a doctor and I remember recently, she was shocked by the fact that there was a widespread use of a specific drug while there were newer drugs out there with less side effect, but they were way less promoted (yet). This is an excellent example of what I am explaining.
