There's all this before and after christ shit and it's like..."did writing even exist back then?" The bible is a lot of books, a lot of people wrote them, a lot of people had nothing better to do then to try and make themselves look "blessed" by writing books that "god" told them to write. People in our time lack the intelligence to understand that even back then people were creative.

Besides, apart from christianity, which is just popular because anglo-saxons embraced it. Ive studied history of art, and even wrote a paper on how people idolized what they saw at their time, its all traceable, if u want to find out how religions were started, go the libriary and dig up some reading material to find out, how and wen and what the original belief was.

In the end of the day, the bible already lost, evolution is 99% proven, u can actually see how people now say that they just believe in god, common sense in people just isnt letting this myth cloud their minds no more, so its taken to a new level. In a 1000 people will make a new bible wich will be more relative, once its been reevaluated.

Historical research has found that there actually was a person called Jesus who lived approx. 2000 years ago, was a itinerant preacher and was crucified by the Romans.
The four gospels in the Bible were written between year 70 and 100 approx. (yes writing did exist back then), several years after Jesus died by his followers - who probably didn't even know him personally - with the intention of mythologising Jesus as the son of God. Non-fundamentalist Christians do not claim that the Bible is the word of God (that would be something Muslims claim about the Qu'ran) - the New Testament was written by people as a statement to the life and teachings of Jesus, whereas the Old Testament actually belongs to Judaism as the foundation of Christianity (Jesus broke with the Jewish notion that obeying the laws of God would lead to salvation by claiming that one should love one's neighbour before anything)
As for whether i believe in the Bible, no i don't (guess i've said that a few times before). Any contemporary person with just a little bit of insight into the theory of evolution and a little bit of common sense would realise that God didn't create the world in 6 days... however, i do think that Jesus had an important message of basic human morality and kindness namely love thy neighbour and that message still stands whether or not he actually was the son of God
