Spit what you about

Postby Infliction » Dec 18th, '06, 00:01

Just thought I'd make a topic so we can see more into the artists/lyricists on the site.

Post information such as:

When you started rappin' (Age, Year, how long it's been, etc.)
Why you started rappin'
Your rap name (Elaborate if you want, how you got it, the meaning of it, if you had trouble getting one, etc.)
Your inspirations
Name of first full song you wrote
Any interesting, funny, etc. stories you'd like to share

Just shit like that, I'll start it off

When and Why:

I started consistently rappin' when I was 13, Fall of 2005, but when I was 11 I used to write rhymes and shit with my neighbor who was a lot older, I've always looked up to him and wanted to be like him so I would write too. I stopped after less than a year, I dont remember why. I started up again because I was in a somewhat abusive relationship (Verbally and mentally on her part) and I was stupid and kept taking it, we'd break up and get back together constantly, and I got so fucking beyond and didnt know how to release this stress and anger I had towards her, so I decided to rhyme it, dont know why just did. I am 15 now, it's been just over a year since I started.

The title of my first track:

The title was L.O.V.E (The undefeatable game) Yea, I know how bad, corny and ridiculous it is. I was pretty stupid back then

My rap name:

My rap name is Infliction. I gave it to myself and if I think of or get a better one I am going to change. The reason I gave it to myself is because when I battle, I want to inflict as much pain as possible towards to other rapper. It took me almost a year to give it to myself.

My inspirations:

I have a lot of inspirations, such as Eminem, DMX, Johnny Cash, Dr.Dre, Mario Lemieux, Saku Koivu.

That's all for me for now, feel free to post whatever :)

When and Why:

I started rapping right before I turned 17. My friend Kyle Spratt made a pretty big name for himself in Windsor, Ontario with his rapping, and I had always been a fan of rap so I decided to try it out for myself. I started writing "Freestyles" and I really knew nothing about bars. My book was filled with all these freestyles, just straight spittin. I was very passionate about rap and I still am. I just love everything about it, the atmosphere, and the enviroment. I love performing and just writing,

The title of my first track:

The first song I released was titled "Step Up"....it was a good song for metaphors, I really like the work I did on it, but it wasn't really a good debut type of song. Just basically about if you have something to say to me, say it to my face.

My rap name:

Steve Spag....Spag is just part of my last name. Still got a lot to it so I just cut it down to Spag....it's kinda catchy, lol.

My inspirations:

My biggest inspirations have been Eminem and DMX. When I first heard the Marshall Matthers CD I was hooked. Even though I started writing at a much later date, it motivated me. And when I heard DMX's Great Depression, that was just a killer CD in my eyes. Local talent in Windsor have inspired me aswell, such as Kyle Spratt. It proves that you can get big by giving it all you got.

You can check out my music at http://www.soundclick.com/stevespag and my older music is located on http://www.soundclick.com/stevespagoldermusic. You can also add me up on myspace at http://www.myspace.com/steve_spano or msn at mailto:spano72@hotmail.com

Thanks everyone.

sorry to break this to you but its impossible to "write" a freestyle , unless its a written freestyle witch is basically a keystyle, witch is not a freestyle

I know it's impossible to write a freestlye, which is why I put the "" marks around it. That's what I called them when I didn't know any of the terms when I started, just straight spitting. lol

When you started rappin'

rappin i'll say since 2000 ( 17 ) now im 23
but i wanted to sing since 1997 so i wrote all kinda songs not to a music or anythin.
just da melody in ma head . well i am glad that i did, coz it helps me a lot up to now wen im makin hooks.
anyway i really like high pitched voices
well wen i heard eminem i was quick to attach with him
before him i liked dr.dre , warren g

Why you started rappin'

Well i didnt hv no anger towards anyone or so
well it all was just luck i guess
in class i was seated behind da guy who was like da major singer in our school ( and our school is one of da biggest in sri lanka )
and one day thr was a small show in da interact club and he asked me to perform "the real slim shady" ..
and i got so pumped over it i asked dfear ( who was seated next to me ) to join me..
then we decided to do Forgot about dre+ Guilty consience
but to get guilty consience right u need an actor to do it
so i asked TK to join
and that was ma peformance
and till that day we r rappin
some huge milestones are
2001 all island rap champs
2002 all island runner ups
in certain shows bein champs and runner up
2001 all island open group competion 3rd place
being on paper

and we had a small fall out in da end of 2002
then again started 2 years back
now i hv singles airin here on radio
( we pulled dem back coz we gonna redo the songs )
we have an established ( small but growin ) fan base
own studio
own cool life
livin da dream i guess

Your rap name

This is a cool headin
well i never came up with this name
the gals at a show came up with it
my name was CHAMI . and i did EMINEM songs at that time
chami+ eminem
i became chaminem

since it was kinda lame in da year 2000 or 2001 i cant remember i changed my stage name to cgame
ppl shld no that i did not prefix my initial with the game rapper
and i was dead furious wen thr was a rapper named GAME ( i first saw his name in a nba 2002 )..
i was hopin he wld not hit big... he he
but he did ...

Your inspirations

2pac , eminem , dre

Name of first full song you wrote

change my ways( rap song )
written to the real slim shady beat

Any interesting, funny, etc. stories you'd like to share

well thr a lot of stage and off stage stories

...once in an audition i had to come out to get da 3mics and da curtain was closed
so i came out and took da mics and wen i was gonna go back i cldnt find da middle of the curtain
and it took me some time to realize i shld go underneath and it was funny coz da crowd was laughin ( thr wasnt much mostly da contestents )

well one of ma fave is wen i jumped off stage and wen to da crowd and sang with em

oh and in a girl skool wen we performed those days everybody yellin ma name and our group names...( @ that day we were called rap max )

I started this whole rap game(and its not one) when I was about 12, I got into the first Eminem Cd and loved it. I started writen poems and songs to improve my lyrical ryhmes and flow. Not to good at freestyle but give me a pen and paper and I will blow your mind.
