maybe you could try press "menu" and the "enter" button at the same time
for 5 seconds it will restart
maybe it helps but i don't think theres much to do at this point you really should get it fixed

i have the same problem
if i was playin a song it would all of a sudden play a other song
so it kept skippin'
i thought i had listen to it too much and the ipod got too hot or sumthin
but then the next day it tried to connect it to my computer
and it doens't connect anymore
first i got a "map" on my ipod and a few days later
a sad face with "xx" eyes
mine does play songs again now
but still doens't connect 2 the computer
i went back to the store and they couldn't help me
because it was almost 2 years old
but they gave me this addres ( just for in holland)
where i could go to fix it
im going there next week
but im gonna get a whole new hard-drive
or whatever you call it ( can't find the word but ya know what i mean :sweating: )
so i guess you should do the same
it just makes your ipod empty
but when you connect it to your computer again it will load your songs on it

ok i just realised it type a fucking long story and i still haven't helped ya lol but yeah.... :sweating: :flower:

i tried the "button combination thing" (even though for me its different coz i got the wheel version)

nothing dont work... i guess its fucked.

And thanx to apple for the "2 year waranty" ... it broke on me exactly after the warranty.

Prolly made this way, anyway ... smh.

Now i gotta find a kind of player to replace it with, and im having second thoughts about updating to a new ipod... >_>...

If you are thinking about getting a new music player, you might wanna consider the Zune. I dont own one but apparently they are pretty good.

I haven`t had an i-pod, but I've had a lot of other mp3 players. One thing I learned man, is don`t fill them to the brim. They will not be able to handle that, I think the hard disc needs a lil space to breathe or somethin. Don`t have 200 folders of stuff with sub-folders either, cos that might have the same effect. What's the capacity of your i-pod, and how much space did you leave on it?

i had 1gb free all the time... and i have a 20gb ipod.

It still is kinda fucked up though, i worked my ass for that 300$ just to buy the damn thing.

And now i lost the shit i saved on it too. Coz i usually save space on my pc and store my best cds on my ipod.

:(

i think im just gonna save for a pc with a huge ass hard disk for now, then later buy some player with a couple gb storage, just to put tracks i listen to most there.

Don`t need a new p.c man, buy an external hard disc. Ya can get one that holds 400gb for about 200 euros. That sucks about losin the music on it, especially after using it to save space on the p.c. You should use data dvd's man, to back your stuff up, that is a slow process though.

If you were leaving 1gb free all the time, it didn`t collapse for the reason I stated so, were you using it around heavy machinery or anything like that. Sometimes the hard disc, can get screwed up if it gets an electro-static charge from a machine's pump/ motor.

Well, I can hit ya up with windows vista download links, if ya want 'em, but sounds like you definitely need a new p.c, lol.

i have the same problem asp. My warranty expired 17 days ago and my ipod stopped working today -_- (the sad face came on and it wouldnt charge ro reset)
BUT i called apple and complained and told them that they must make them to break just to piss off the costumers and said it happened with my last ipod too right when the warranty ended (which it did...kinda) so they agreed to repair my ipod for free...all i have to do now is pay for the shipping which is like $32.05 since they send a special box and shit...It's a lot better than a new $300+ ipod
:sweating: now I just have to wait a week or so(maybe more :() without an ipod and music for the bus rides and stuff -_-

well the waranty thing is intriguing, i can recount many devices i bought that started having problems right after warranty ended.

On my computer my dvd rom, stopped reading highspeed writen disks, now i can only play a select few. Drivers dont allow themselves to be installed.. etc.

Its a big scheme, i think its done on purpose.

And i would send my ipod to repair, but in cyprus theres only like one apple shop and its in the capital city, and i been told they dont even do repairs. :(
