all the albums fit the time... they were released in..
"Paid in full" & follow the leader - were the first albums in late 80's.. so u know what to expect from that era.. beats arent to complicated, but rakim still originated complexity on that shit. so its interesting to hear how that hold shit started with "intelligent" flows.
"Dont sweat the technique" & "let the rhythm hit em"- 1991 , if i remember correctly... so it had that whole fast rhythm funk vibe going on there, east coast oldschool style. My personal favorite album is Sweat the technique.
The 18th Letter/The Book Of Life (2CD) (1997) - is a full cd with new songs +
a second cd of classic old hits of hits (best of basically)... evnetually ull have to listen to that cd if u listen to his other stuff. Some songs on that album are just lyrically VERY impressive.
"the master" - 1999, Premo on the beats, its no longer oldschool, but very complex in style, if ur new to rakims music, u might wanna start from there.
