ive always wanted one and plan on getting one in the future....at the moment my idea is to have my first intital "N" as a bubble letter with pics of selected things inside the letter on my bicep...also i'd get a dedication to a close family member or friend who died.

i would only get a tattoo if it meant somthing. people get Chinese characters on their arm and dont know wut it means. they got it just cuz it looked cool. in 50 years its not gonna look cool. but if you get somthin meaningful, in 50 years its still gonna be meaningful.

I have two. One is a little red flower which is on my right hip- I got it while I was dating an English literature major in my early twenties. I told him that it was a scarlet pimpernel which was also the title of a book that he liked. No one else got it so it was like our little secret- I was young and in love. What can I say?

The other is on my lower back. It's an eagle with the American flag painted across his face; I had it put on after 9/11. It's about medium size and hurt like hell- most of it was finelined and colored right on my spine.

My best advice is make sure that your tattoo really means something to you- don't just get a rose on your shoulder or one of those tribal bands around your arm just because it looks cool on someone else. Also, make sure that that the tattoo parlor autoclave sterilizes their equipment- it's the kind of sterilization that's used on surgical instruments in hospitals. Those kind of places cost a little more but the safety is worth it. You'll also get the best quality in the art at those places.

Right now I'm trying to figure out how to pull the two that I have together- it'll probably involve vines and more flowers around my hips and belly but not on my back- beneath or around the eagle I want something a little more aggressive.

Also, I don't like upper body work on a woman but that's just me.
