Racial question..

Postby Jay-19 » May 7th, '07, 22:57

Okay, I just saw the thread in the DL-section with Eminem sayin' the "n-word".

Alot of people see this as totally wrong for a white human to say, but I thinks it's just silly (depending on the way you say it).

And I just wanted to know if any black people on this board has something against white people saying the "n-word"?

I think it's harmless if you say it... But that's my opinion.

Typically most white people do think that it's harmless for a white person to say it

That's cause i think white people can't understand it like black people can, so it's just that we don't say it. It's a mark of respect, it's a way of showing we have respect for one another.

Meh. I think it's just a word thrown around. If it was about respect, you wouldn't just say it to any brother u see.

I don't personally know the offensive feeling blacks get when they hear it, and I'll never know because I'm a previladges white male, and could never understand it.

yea, i agree with bar, you should never say it in a track or to a person, or anything, but neither should anyone else.. I don't see how it's a fuckin' diss, when it's used every two fuckin' seconds to each other.

I understand if black people get offended by white people saying it. But most of all I think it's about HOW you say it.

For example: My black friends doesn't get offended when I say it. But that's because they know me and I say it with no disrespect. But if I just met a random black human on the street, and say it the exact same way I say it to my friends, I think he/her would get offended because they don't know me at all.

You understand what I'm trying to say?

I say this because Black's do have a general harder time. I'm not saying all are poor, but whites generally have it easier because of the system :-k

And I know that. I don't think Affermitive action is right, but whatever. I don't like getting in debates here anymore, so I'm going to just fade out... .. . . . . .. . .

I'm black and I have several issues.

1.) No one should say it, there's no need to, it's a word derived from a racist term that EVERYONE finds to be offensive.

2.) The entire argument that "it's just a word" is retarded because if it's "just a word" of so little importance then why is it so imperative that white people be able to say it. If it's "just a word" then don't say it since it obviously bothers the vast majority of black people

Honestly when white people say "the n word" I just laugh because I look at it as a desperate attempt to be accepted and it's overall pathetic. Not to mention they usually sound retarded saying it.

My question is this, why do white people want to say it so badly?

Edit: Black people say it as a slap in the face to white people who said it as a racist term showing that they can use something that was such a horrible insult and change the meaning to something positive within the culture, so a white person saying it is considered disrespectful.

But in all honesty no one calls me a nigga/nigger and I don't throw the word around. It's disrespectful. I personally get more offended when a black person says it because they should know the struggle. I little white kid running up like "Yo wassup my nigga" is hilarious to me.

But thats all I have to say, peace out

I'm black too, None of my friends say it around me, unless theyr black but it's not rly a word that I myself jus say outta the blue, only if its in a song will i say it. If someone says it directly to me in an obviously offensive way then yeah it will piss me off and it has been said to my sister before and she got REAL pissed off. I know a white dude who write raps and in his freestyles he uses the word , and I guess i'm kool with it cos I know that he dont say it offensively. I guess I got kinda mixed opinions on this subject but yeah. That's kinda my say on it.

I'm what would happen if you took Faracon, MLK, Nas, a little Jay-Z, a Teaspoon of Malcom-X, and a half cup of Cassidy and threw it in the oven with a pen and tablet at 650 degrees.
