I see it as arrogance if ppl don't want to learn what's outside the world. There are more country's you know.

Is geography honestly the most important subject though?
Grammar, spelling, science, math, reading comprehension, history, politics, business, economics, current events...I think all of those are more important than geography. Yet whenever an "Americans are stupid" debate is brought up, it always has to do with maps.

They didn't even know that they lost the vietnam war, they think fidel castro is a singer, al quida they have no idea what that is, they don't know tony blair, so far for current events.
I mean cmon, and im not talking about ALL the americans, mostly about the ones in that video, but things like that make me believe americans only care about whats happening in USA.

I knew all the answers to those questions. And personally I think making a thread titled "Are all americans just stupid?" is more ignorant than anything said on that video.

Sure there are things outside of our country, but it has nothing to do with arrogance. It has to do with priorities. I'd much rather have a kid that can add and read and hold an intelligent conversation than a kid that can tell me all the countries in Europe backwards. Just because people can't answer a bunch of random questions (and let it be known of the many many many people they asked they picked the dumbest answers, while we could look to Jade Goody and get all those answers from one person) doesn't mean they're not intelligent.

Just from online encounters with people from other countries, I could say that since they apparently can't form a comprehendible sentence that the country is stupid. But generalizing like that (and, even if you're saying all Americans aren't stupid, you know you're generalizing them to be that way) IS arrogant. You could ask me how to change a tire, and just because I don't know, doesn't mean I am unintelligent. I'll admit: I DON'T know everything about what's going on in the world. I'll admit: I rarely watch the news (only because news programs are biased and the news always seems to be bad and depressing, not because I just don't care). I'll admit: I suck at geography. But when I want to know something, or when I care about a current event, I do my homework. I don't just use my computer as a shiny box to waste away my brain and I don't go to school as an excuse to gossip and find out where the best blonde hair products are. There ARE stupid Americans. But there are also stupid Brits, stupid Germans, stupid Canadians, stupid Iraqis. Like James said, I could watch Jade Goody wondering aloud about eskimos and read how some/most british people communicate on forums and say "Wow, England's stupid." But I'm not conceited enough to do that.

80% of americans are protestant christians. Thats enough to prove that education levels are slacking. Especially if more than half of your popultion believes that the world is 10000 years old at most.

I got nothing against americans in general. But compared to Europe and other parts of the world, every one of ur school classes is 2 years behind the rest of the world.
