MODERATE TO HEAVY SNOW WAS OVERSPREADING MUCH OF RHODE ISLAND AND SOUTHEAST MASSACHUSETTS THIS EVENING. THE WET SNOW WILL QUICKLY ACCUMULATE ON UNTREATED ROADWAYS AND TRAVEL WILL BECOME HAZARDOUS. IN ADDITION... NORTHEAST WINDS WILL INCREASE THIS EVENING WITH GUSTS BETWEEN 40 AND 50 MPH DEVELOPING ON THE COAST TONIGHT. THIS COMBINED WITH THE WET SNOW MAY RESULT IN SCATTERED POWER OUTAGES... DOWNED TREE LIMBS AND POOR VISIBILITIES. THE SNOW SHOULD TAPER OFF SHORTLY AFTER MIDNIGHT.

Yeah here in CT we were all canceled today, schools, university, state employees left early, the whole state basically closed down. Funny thing is it didn't really start snowing significantly until like 2 pm, before that it was just extremely light, barely able to see it snow. Now, however...yuck, it's still snowing and I have to get up early to clean it. Fun

I didn't have class today, but tomorrow I do, and all other universities around us cancelled class, and more than half of the student body are commuter and all of the faculty is. and it is still snowing here!! i just want one more day off!!
