It got locked before I got a chance to post my reply so I thought I'd do it here since I think it's worth reading at least.
It started off as a reply but ended up expanding into a more general rant about class and society so I thought I'd title it that and post it here.
FIRST, this was the original post from the guy (not me):
alawdawg wrote:I'm as big as, probably bigger, Eminem fan than anybody on this board, but even I recognize I am not a hoodrat. Chances are the majority of y'all had a quality education system, or at least graduated high school. And it is fine to talk in internet lingo, that doesn't bother me. Not EVERY word needs to spelled correctly. But when you type messages out so that you have to read it two or three times to know what the fuck you are saying it gets to the point where spelling the sentence out would be better. I know I'm going to take a lot of shit for this because this is on the Eminem section, but the reality is the majority of posters here type like they are an uneducated piece of shit and most of the posters post on the Eminem section. I just thought I should address this and I thought it would be for the betterment of the board as a whole.
And I'm calling out embm, because she is a prime example of what i am talking about.
NOW, here's my reply to that:
First off, you quite clearly adhere to this distorted, nonsensical black / white (I don't mean race) view of the class system as if there's ghetto then rich lmao.
There's many stages in between.
You've got homeless. Dirt poor. Government-funded poor, rat-infested job poor, shitty normal job poor and on and on and on. And many variables in between and on those definitions too due to extra sources of income, different life factors / styles, everything.
So, you also have this huge spectrum with intelligence. Firstly, good education does not mean you're automatically intelligent. Secondly, a good education does not mean you're rich or not in a 'hoodrat' environment.
I'm from a shitty urban city in the UK. Now, I don't have people shooting at me and I went to a public school. The education was 'good' in the sense that... Well it's just a normal public school where assholes like myself just spent their entire duration fucking around in.
But, we wore uniforms and had official classes and subjects but believe me - I am far from rich or in a rich environment. I have many 'hoods' so to speak in my city. Dark places, places you wouldn't want to be caught alone in. The street I live on and the area I live isn't that bad but there's elements of it nearby always and my city has that vibe.
There's no such thing as just good and bad or posh and poor. I'm within walking distance of a place where there are Yardies and foreigners with knives, where people have been murdered, where I can get drugs round every corner... So don't buy into this bullshit black and white idea of things lmao.
It doesn't work that way. I happen to be intelligent because... Well I'm obviously naturally more so than some but I've self-educated but being intelligent doesn't mean you're rich or not from 'that' environment and being stupid doesn't mean that either lmao. There's many stupid posh people much like there's many genius poor people.
My parents are in a lot of debt, I've grown up struggling, barely affording things etc. So stop buying into cosey little compartmentalizing of civilzation. I got news for you, not all white people are rich, not all black people are poor. Drugs are sold in posh neighbourhoods and some ghetto kids like Mozart. Ambitions and lack therefore of, narcotics, crime etc. are all human traits not specific to any one section, you'll find each and all in every corner of society.
That's also why I find it funny mind you that I hear so many black rappers talk about selling drugs as if a) it's specific to them and their situation ie. being ghetto-born, b) being black and c) being something big and rare lmao. Like I said I'm poor but at the same time I'm not dirt dirt poor. I have a PC, you know, like most 'normal' poor people, I have the basics of life but it ain't easy. It's always survival.
But... I've sold drugs myself, only for a short period because I erh... 'Sniffed' my goods away but I know many people who make a killing from it, even some from a distance that have BMWs from it. Some of these people are from ghetto-like areas, some aren't. Some are black, most are white. It's odd that rappers think it's gangsta, I know fucking college people who sell class A's lmao.

I just wanted to post it because it felt like such a waste, typing all that then not being allowed to post it because it got locked. Cheers.
