I have a mic...now what?

I bought a mic last summer and I never was inclined to record until now. But I have no idea what programs to use to record and mix my beats with vocals. Any suggestions would be very helpful

Reaper FM is the best software I've used for recording songs.
It's real easy to use and it's free to download at www.reaper.fm

As for mixing, I use Audition 1.5.
Also very easy to use and you can get a lot of nice effects in it.
