I need someones help...

Long story short I worked for College Works Painting as a painter last 2 summers, my best friend was my manager both years, I haven't received my paycheck I should have gotten end of August or beginning of September. Since it was my best friend I always contacted him, I had no one else to call, and by now I'm fed up.

I looked into the better business bureau but that doesn't seem to be the place I can contact for shit like this. So does anyone know who I should contact?


Just so you know, contacting college works itself is pointless, my friend has talked to the people, including the higher ups, so if you can help don't just say to call them :sweating:

Yeah, because one kid who "got" the houses quit, for they were given to my friend, and because of that my crew painted them. We didn't get our first checks till 6 weeks late. The problem now apparently, is that because the other guy had the houses, they needed to transfer the money from his account to my friend/boss's so that I could be paid. And the "head" women of PA needs to sign off on it, and has been gone for like 4 weeks.

btw never use college works painting to paint your house, just put it into google and you'll see one of the first thing that comes up is "college works painting scam" haha

Edit: I called there too, today, got the number offline, it was to set up a free estimate.

I asked for another number of someone to contact, said she had none, I asked for part of the website I could be directed to, she had nowhere to direct me. It's fuckin bullshit, but I called my friend boss and left a message about him giving me numbers.

:shakehead: Hopefully your friend can get you numbers. Otherwise i'm sure there's some sort of advice hotline for you to call on subjects like these :-k I wouldn't know what it is though, probably some sort of Citizens Advice Bureau (idk if you have that in US).

But if you finally get in contact with them and they still don't pay..

I filed a complaint to the better business bureau and the department of labor. I talked to him today and he sent me the numbers, we'll see if I get a check now I guess :whistle:

The Department Of Labor might be the route to go, but the Better Business Bureau doesn't handle employer-employee disputes to much avail. Some people I work with tried contacting them about hours being shorted--documented shorting, all stored on the company reports that everyone has access to--and the BBB told them that they don't handle such disputes. I believe they function primarily for consumers.

In any case, it wasn't a bad idea to file the complaints though. Hopefully you don't have to take it to court, because unless I'm missing something, that's the next step.

yeah, i found that out when I went there, but I figured I had the time i better make the complaint either way, couldn't hurt. Plus they might get a warning or at least some sort of documentation about it, so like I said, I thought it was best to do that anyway, but thanks :y:
