MULTIS ARE OVERRATED

Postby Tash8 » Jan 13th, '10, 22:47

THIS IS for all the fucks here that think multis are the greatest thing since sliced bread.. but honestly unless you're creative with multis usually they are really easy, boring, or not good..

second, almost 90% of this forum forces multis, like it's pretty bad, it ruins a what would normally be a decent verse..

now i used to be the same as most of you guys thinking multis are the most important thing, but learnin how to use multis and integrating with ur flow is what makes it dope.

just wanted to say that since everyone seems to be all in the ass about multis ever since Relapse was released.

well im going to make some conter points to give both us something to do

1. multies may seemed forced at times, but when you do em correct, you may either not notice theyre there, or they add alot to the piece.
2. when i see a peice without multies it looks very plain, and almost ammature, not saying it is. but if you could incorperate good multies in your piece its that much better
3. fuckin with flow may make it creative... in audio. on here people are gonna flow it their way regardless of your intended flow, i belive the multies help the flow when reading the lyrics of a piece.

no you dont need to make multies come out your ass(like YH no offence luv ya ;) )
but i believe you should have multies everyline even if it things like "get hit, rip shit"
sounds better than "get hit, tear shit" no matter what that line was talking about

all IMO

IMO a rap needs multis to sound good at all. Anyless it's on some very deep emotional shit it needs multis.

So what's most important?
Yo, from the first to the last of it; delivery is passionate/
The whole and not the half of it; vocab and not the math of it/
Projectile that them blasted with; accurate assassin shit/
Me and Kweli close like... Bethlehem and Nazareth/

FLOW is the biggest and baddest guy, delivery (how you pronounce words, if you cant pronounce for shit how we gonna like you), lyrics (are you saying something i'm actually going to care to listen to)

Because without multis a rap doesn't sound half as good as with multis. IMO they make or break a song. If you can get amazing multis while also making it meaningfull you get a classic song, ie Rock Bottom, Sing for the Moment

So after you master flow and delivery, what's the most important?

Many MCs have already perfected their flow/delivery, so how would you rate them? You can't judge a rapper, just solely because you don't feel his voice. He can't necessarily "change" his voice. Yes, he can put on an accent or talk slower, but his overall voice is unchangeable.

And you mean lyrics as in content. So what else is important? :y:

the content and it's meaning..orginality, rhymes (and no i'm not talking just multis, a lot of people can rhyme) the only thing is anyone knows how to rhyme, "go, hoe, know" "damn, sam, man can't" but not everyone knows how to rhyme "similar/familiar"..."barrel/care for" those are way more complicated rhymes that "spit shit/rip hit/lick tits" even though those are multis they aren't creative.

I myself love multis but I try to incorporate everything with them, I agree they are overrated on here but it's better than being on a Wayne forum where people write rhymes like Young Luc

I think I'm pretty good at using them but I put more thought into my rhymes than "what rhymes with this" and my flow usually turns out a lot better from the,

Young Luc i totally forgot about that failure
