mbmfan wrote:Little tidbit for Cowboys fans: Brett Favre is 0-3 vs. the Cowboys in the playoffs. All these were games with the Packers, but expect the trend to continue.

Wade Phillips, a defensive minded coach, and former Def. Coord. for the San Diego Chargers, is gonna look at the tape of the Cardinals and Panthers games, where the Vikings O-Line got blew up. Expect his defense, which is already playing lights out, to be in the Vikings backfield going upside people's heads and being sackhappy. Demarcus Ware, Jay Ratliff, etc. are STUDS.

Both their D-Lines and O-Lines are playing great, they're winning the battle upfront, which equals success esp. in the playoffs. Not to mention they got 3 backs who can all run it, one of whom was a school mate of mine. He could run it then, and still can run it now.

Brett Favre's about to be 0-4 vs. the Cowboys in the playoffs. Thnx in large part to the defense.

Yeah but, how many years ago was that?

llockhart86 wrote:Who cares about statistics??

The NFL and me. Statistics prove what a player/team is capable of. It also proves what a player/team is capable of with certain odds and how they play against other players/teams. Which actually says a lot. For example, statistically the cardinals have a shaky defense - Hence a packer comeback to almost win after what seemed to be a blowout. That proves that their defense is shaky......

Also, Statistically the Saints have a shaky defense - Hence a Dallas and Buccaneer win against them. A 25th ranked offense can smash a 25th ranked defense....Statistics matter when your looking at the matchup.

For instance - think about the vikings and dallas matchup. You have an 8th ranked team in passing yards and a 2nd ranked team in points(vikings) stacking up against a 20th ranked team in defense pass and a 2nd ranked team in defense points.

This tells me that you may shut down peterson, but you'll get crushed in the secondary which is favres specialty. Oh, and when you start getting sick of harvins screen passes for 7+ yards watch for the deep pass, and thats when peterson runs it up the gut and averages 4+yards a carry.

Romo has never been to a super bowl. This is the first dallas win post season in ten years.

Favre's gone to the super bowl twice and won once.

Favre has more experience and has the best team he's played with ever probably. Having the best season ever. And the vikings really only got blown out once this year in a dome...vs. arizona.

The vikings are undefeated at home.

The vikings lost 2 big games in the cold , but their wont be any cold weather post season.

One of those games we barely lost.

And the steelers game would have been ours if it wasnt for 2 bad plays at the end of the game. We beat the shit out of them on the field.

All I gotta say is, if dallas doesnt come with their A game its over with ( i.e. Giants )

And even if they do come with their A game, this will be the toughest game Dallas will be playing all year, aside from the Chargers game. (And ill give respect where respect is due with that game)

Thinkin that the vikings will get blown out is :n: . Goes the same for Dallas. But the track record for the vikings proves, if we get up in the first quarter...its a wrap.

Bottom line (literally :p ) - Vikings vs. Dallas will be a great game.

Here's some stats : 8.9, Brett Favre's lowest career QB rating. And it came against the Cowboys in 07, where they put him out of the game with a separated shoulder.

llockhart's response: I don't like those stats, so they don't count, bc the world revolves around what I think. Or, I foed mbmfan, so I can't see this post. But I came up with an excuse to view mbmfan's posts yesterday bc I can't stand when mbmfan is right. Or, why do I keep reading mbmfan's posts when I posted I wouldn't anymore? Or, I guess I'll go listen to an Eminem song, or watch one of his videos, bc I want to be Eminem, but I know I can't and never will be. And on sunday I won't be able to brag on the Vikings bc I know they'll lose.

Anyways, I think the Vikings will win 1. Cuz they have been my fav team since I can remember and I'll support them forever and 2. Because they are having a real good season and are playing extremely well

Which is the same thing that mac and others on here have said, and you posted that stuff doesn't count and that they need stats. But they need them bc they're going for a team other than the Brett Favres. Notice you didn't post any stats. Talkin out both sides of your neck.

You my friend are just a hater.

So this is Wednesday, right about now DeMarcus Ware, Anthony Spencer, and Jay Ratliff are licking their chops about who their gonna tear up on Sunday afternoon, while looking at the game plan.
Some people are gonna be crying Sunday, but it won't be the Cowboys, unless its tears of joy in reaching the NFC Championship. But I got a feeling they'll be more in a celebratory mood, laughing at and smirking at all the people that doubted them :D. And I'll be right along with em, laughing, but mostly smirking. Just like I did with Giants vs. Patriots in the Super Bowl in 08. I knew the Giants would win that game, and I knew that their defense would be "knocking people the hell out" in the win. I said a week before, because this one was a "something told me moment", that alright, when this happens I'm gonna watch the sports shows on Monday morning and laugh at all the analysts when they gotta explain why the Patriots, who that year were being called the "greatest team ever in football", 1 win away from 19-0, lost to the Giants in the Super Bowl. That "something" turned out to be right. What I thought was right. And I did just what I said I would do Monday morning. That month was one of the greatest in my life. Something about telling what's gonna happen ahead of time, and it happening exactly how I said it will. Talk about shouting. I felt like I was in church watching that game. Almost put on some James Brown pants. That one was David vs. Goliath. David slew Goliath. Giant killer! Not to mention that "Jesuuus" catch that Tyree had. I called that catch the "Jesuuus" catch, because that's what it made you say when you saw it. I will remember and love that game the rest of my life. That one is "my game".

Its not hard to call a game man, its a coin flip.

Its like saying a quarter is gunna land on heads...its either going to, or its not.

Just like your game. You can say a team is going to win, either way , they are going to or not. And you get to look at yourself like some sort of prodigy because you went with the underdog and they won.

Which is what your doing again with Dallas, going with the underdog :smoking:

You must have been pre-occupied when this game was going on :D. Everybody was choosing the Patriots to win, and with good reason. Nobody was choosing the Giants to win. I was right along with em until "something told me" the Giants would win, and how they would do it. Before I was wanting the Giants to win, but was thinking the Patriots would win. They were the sensible pick. They weren't just beating people, they were steamrolling their opponents. Picking the Giants to win this game legitimately, you had to have had it on higher authority, some stuff man cannot know on his own. It was not unnreasonable for you to have been committed if you said the Giants would win this game. That game was that much of a done deal.

LOL, nope. There were so many ramifications to that game that are still here today. The Giants took down the dynasty that was the Patriots. That win would have sealed them as the greatest football dynasty of all time. Which is what the Pats were going for. All time glory. They ain't been right since that loss. David Tyree's catch is up there with the all time greatest catches, watch shows that countdown those things, and that game is up there as one of the greatest sports games of all time, again watch shows that countdown those things. That game was monumental.

You keep confirming what Im saying.

Patriots were picked to win with a 19-0 season. You picked the other team, which would be the underdog, got lucky and got bragging rights for... Years apparently.

You keep confirming what I said.

They had no shot to win the game. Picking them was beyond ridiculous. That's why them winning was monumental. That was one of THE biggest upsets in sports history. For you to pick them, you either did bc you wanted them to win, or knew something, in my case :D .
