Relapse had a fucking whack accent. End of story. :n:

I don't give a flying fuck if he's lyrically on top. I don't give a fuck if he has "dope" content, even though his recent album had repetitive subject matter. I don't give a fuck if the tracks are stacked with metaphors/similes/personifications/other-literary-devices.

If the song sounds bad, I won't bump it. That simple.

Then, after the song is listenable, I'll start paying attention to these mechanics and techniques. :y:

EDIT: The production was lacking, as well. :shakehead:

yeah man.
My favorite artists have always been 2pac, Eminem and Dave Matthews Band. I have the most music on my ipod by these 3 , but not every song they ever made just because it is by them. I know that a song like Fack, Puke or Crazy In Love just does nothing but make me cringe, even though it's by King Mathers.

@eminembase
my darling and Carefull what you wish for were recorded after relapse was done(that's a fact) and i also heard they were songs cut from relapse 2 (rumor)

anyways, i thought relapse was dope,,,, but,,, i was letdown the first time i listened to it... the accent just pissed me off,, it wasnt until a few listens that i realy got into it. I think it was a dope album but not a classic. I think eminem was just warming up and getting back into wat he does best. the production for relapse wasnt that great, i'm glad he's not gonna have all dre produced songs for relapse 2. I loved most of the refill songs though and so did alot of my friends,, people are finally starting to talk about eminem in my school again cause of refill and btw i think relapse 2 will be amazing from wat i hear. Listen to mr.porters latest interview from i think friday night live. Eminem has spent a ton of time on this next album and almost everything released after relapse has been better than lots of the songs on relapse in terms of his delivery. anyways i rly think em is getting everything back and i dont think he'll let us down.... sry if none of wat i said makes sense lol it all sounds right in my head

that is the problem these days, I guess the whole shock value of Eminem wore off to people a while ago. When I was in 7th grade, I used to sneak in SSLP to class and when the teacher left us for lunch I would play it (what a rebel, I know). I got at least 10 ppl obsessed with Eminem, probably more, and when MMLP came out, all the older kids in school had it...even if their parents had to come to the store with them. It just seemed like everyone was so much more into then. It's not like the music surrounding Eminem has improved either, if anyhthing it's gotten much worse.

I think he needs to do something drastic, and that doesnt mean an album rapping with an accent again (please, like for real this time). Whether he cooks up a real beef...non-Mariah/Lohan style, that could get ppl talking. He just needs to somehow create songs that sound more like his first albums hitss (Way I Am will never be duplicated)

I dont know....I just wana feel something similar to what I used to feel when hearing his music, sure I'm not a kid anymore but that shouldnt matter. I dont think it is my taste that has changed as much as Em's music has

@ EminemBase:

RelapseLP really hit the nail on the head in his post. I basically feel the exact same way. Relapse sounds like shit, and is not something you pop into your stereo, wit your buddies when you want to listen to a sick track.

I'm glad that other fans feel the same way as I do cause I sure as hell know critics do as well. In order for music to gain success it has to SOUND good and relapse simply doesn't. He could be talking about the most interesting intriguing shit on the planet but I still would'nt want to get a headache listening to it if it couldn't be delivered properly.

and yes the accent is a major contributing factor!

one last question for eminembase:
I know you think the words are clever and all, and I agree, but do you actually like how it sounds?

thats crazy, I put SSLP after Em Show in your rankings. 3 straight classics tho. I guess if you are younger and didnt get into Eminem until later in his career it would be a little different, but SSLP is huge to me.
