"Without Tongue, Lest Life be Taken"
I chew my Gum with so much vigor soon
I'll chew my tongue off too and be a mute
And if I'm muted you can then assume
I'll be entombed but soon I'll be exhumed
And when exhumed I'll be a human zoo
Where everyone can look and say "It's true,
near skinless but the skin there is is blue.
I've not seen one thing like him, how 'bout you?"
And after all the laughter that ensues
The shouts of all the crowds I've kept amused
They've sent me to my doom, an empty room
Then having died I'm back inside my tomb
__And all because of Gum, I'm something new
__I'm one that's died not once, but twice 'fore through
Interpretation:
You have such powerful words relating to how you chew your gum with so much vigor as you bite your tounge off. Youre nothing if you become a mute, therefore youre dead. But people want more of you because theyre not use to something that speaks their mind, so you revive, and when you do, youre like nothing else, unique to put at the least (the people's reactions). You find it amusing that everyone is at shock of your character. So they try to shut you down again. And because you speak or "chew gum" with such force or impact, youre one of a kind.
Overall: Speak up and stand up for what you value, otherwise you will fear life.
I'm not sure which way you wanted me to interpert it. (line by line, or the general idea of the poem as a whole). Either way.. thats how I saw it
