& Ass Like That was lyrical genius. & you are smart.
Actually, I'm fairly smart. You, on the other hand, are obviously a full-fledged, babbling idiot.
Take a look at that second verse--it's absolutely awful. Lacks multis, the multis it does have are poorly structured/awkward in placement as it pertains to flow, and his linguistic choices are terrible.
Sometimes I just feel like my father, I hate to be bothered
(Right off the bat...what? To this point, we knew almost nothing of his father. We still don't know much about him. He "just feels like his father, he hates to be bothered?" The line doesn't amount to anything...it's utterly useless).
With all of this nonsense it's constant
And, "Oh, it's his lyrical content -
- the song 'Guilty Conscience' has gotten such rotten responses"
And all of this controversy circles me
And it seems like the media immediately
Points a finger at me (finger at me)..
He's stuck rhyming "me" with "ly" and "me" again.
So I point one back at 'em, but not the index or pinky
Or the ring or the thumb, it's the one you put up
He's out of ideas so he's stuck playing a game of "process of elimination" with us, even though as soon as he said "so I point one back at 'em" we knew EXACTLY what he was referring to. It's excessive and boring.
And again, it sounds horrible because he has to stress the last syllable to force a rhyme.
"pin-KY"...rhyming it with the whole "me" thing from before.
When you don't give a fuck, when you won't just put up
With the bullshit they pull, cause they full of shit too
The bullshit they pull...CUZ they're full of shit, TOO?
They pull bullshit...and it's BECAUSE they're FULL OF SHIT
TOO. Make sense?
The word "too" (which shouldn't be there) is there so he can force a monosyllabic rhyme with "school."
These bars are embarrassing and don't do Eminem's intelligence justice. This is the same man who can flawlessly execute songs like Rock Bottom, 97 Bonnie and Clyde, and Kim.
When a dude's gettin bullied and shoots up his school
And they blame it on Marilyn (on Marilyn).. and the heroin
Where were the parents at? And look where it's at
Middle America, now it's a tragedy
Now it's so sad to see, an upper class ci-ty
Havin this happenin (this happenin)..
Just ends suddenly on "happenin'," which doesn't rhyme with anything until the next bar with "-tack-Emin."
The lyrics don't go with the flow. This is Encore-era type design where he's splitting rhymes between bars in awkward fashion.
Then attack Eminem cause I rap this way (rap this way)..
But I'm glad cause they feed me the fuel that I need for the fire
To burn and it's burnin and I have returned
Again, awkward bar ending. "Rap this way"...doesn't rhyme with anything until we get to "glad cuz they" in the next bar, but it's ineffective phonetically; especially because he takes a long pause before saying the next bar.
