Just because he changed direction doesnt mean he started from square 1 with r2. Im sure he kept a bunch of beats too and just scrapped verses.

I doubt it. He got with a bunch of new producers and said the direction of the album COMPLETELY changed. R2 would be most likely all Dre beats then one Em beat on a personal track. So no, I dont think thats the case.

He was workin with just blaze before he announced the "new direction" , I think so anyways...

Nah he wasn't. HE had the material already made for R2 before R1 even dropped. IT was just a case of chosing 15 songs and skits, promotion, album cover and singles. But then he sat down with Interscope and they decided to change direction. Thats when all the new producers started to come in.

I want proof of this.

I was under the impression he was still working on the album since he was trying to get it out before the years end.

And dont reference the skit on r1 either....

5th March 2009 - 2 months before Relapse dropped

“A lot of people were expecting Relapse to drop last year. I was one of them,” Eminem said in a press release. “Then Dre and I went back in the studio in September for a few days, and that turned into six months. We were on such a roll; we wound up with a ton of new music produced by Dre. Putting out Relapse 2 will let everyone get all of the best stuff.”

I think for the most part he did start from square one with R2, I dont see Em being half ass with this album, if he changes directions then he goes all out with it. However, as far as we know, hes been recording new stuff since November, thats a solid 4 months of recording. Given how everyone is saying how focused he is, and how all he does it write and record, it wouldnt surprise me at all if hes completed the album at this point, or atleast close to it, and is setting it up for approximately the same release schedule as Relapse, leading into the concerts overseas.

I think the main holding up now is choosing a tracklist. From what we hear he's making plenty of new stuff, so he'll probably have loads of stuff to choose from, it's just chossing 15 that he's happy with.

How are we expected to have patience when he said R2 comes out last year, then he keeps fucking delaying it? WHY DON'T YOU HAVE PATIENCE?

actually, delaying it would be better than not saying anything at al...at least then we'd know he's still working on it lol. Maybe he said fuck it, this isnt coming out...lets move on to D12 album. You never know when you have zero information

Yeah, agreed, and also narrowing down the first single. It must be pretty difficult when you have that much material to choose from.

Okay now this could be bullshit but I was reading on this website and this is what they think the tracklsit means. I'm not the kinda person to bleieve deep meanings to Em's stuff but it makes so much sense

I actually read that before but I doubt it :zipped: well I'm just afraid that he would choose some bad songs to be on the album and lest out the better ones.

Pretty interesting read, and it does make sense. However, it does make it seem like he would sacrifice better songs if they didnt fit into the theme that he decided to go with. It comes down to which he thinks is better, an album with a well thought out theme, or just a collection of great songs

YEah but he's chosen the songs for a reason, that's why I kinda believe that, it makes too much sense. Albums are about telling stories, reflecting on things, most people think its just a bunch of songs togther, but most albums tell a story or link. Thats why order of songs is so important.
