Does it really matter if the mastering is done or not? The recording seems to be done, and that is what matters imo! I'm sure the mastering (if it's not already done that is) won't affect any release dates from this point on - R2 (or w/e it's called) won't get released in less than 2 months anyways.

Because the recordings 'been done' since fucking October 2009.

An interview with Em himself he said it was done recording-wise. Then again in November. Then in December all the stuff from Mr. Porter saying it's in the 11th hour etc.

And March 2010 now. So if he just means the recordings 'basically done' we could just be in the same situation lmao. Where as if everything is mastered and literally means last touches, then it's time to get excited.

I'm glad someone with actual intimate knowledge of what is going on is finally giving some solid information. As alluded to by others, it doesnt make that much of a difference to the timeline if its in the mastering stage yet or not...The announcements and information can still be released even during the mastering process, and the album wont be released for a few months anyway. The fact that the recording appears to be done is the important factor, no real delays are expected to occur while you are simply mastering an album. I too found it interesting that JB refered to it as "that" instead of Relapse 2, seems to suggest that a name change is probable. With this news, I expect a single mid-April and the album out in June. I dont think Em has any reason to continue recording at this point simply because recording has been going on since October. So when a main producer of the album says its wrapping up, that must be the information he has gotten from Em himself.

I think Em originally said 5 or 6. But becuase of recording more material it could be more or less now. Probably more though. He seems to be the main man in terms of producing

i think in October 2009 & November eminem had an album much better than Relapse but not as good as his first three. then ever since he's been trying to match the caliber by knocking out weaker tracks with better ones & now he finally thinks he has.

Yeah I agree and I don't think he'd be releasing it now unless he thinks he's done it. Which is really exciting.

But in November I think he had what some would consider that because... The way Mr. Porter was describing it saying this won't be just like another Eminem album and this is a perfect representation and he's as happy as any classic etc.

So I mean if he's improved it beyond that, god knows what he's got. He must at least think he's topped the 1st three IMO. I can't wait.
