Question for people from The Netherlands

Is it socially acceptable for you to refer to where you live as "Holland" instead of The Netherlands, or is that politically incorrect?

For some people is it politically incorrect because their are 2 provinces with the name Zuid-Holland& Noord-Holland. but for idc i think its easier when people ask me where im from to say holland

Really doesn't matter, I live in 'Noord Holland' but when a foreigner asks me where i'm from i never tell them the province cause thats irrelevant. I usually say the netherlands though, although holland sounds better in some situations, example:

Actually it does matter, since both terms have their own definition. Holland refers to the western part of the country, that's why I use it. Because I live in the western part of The Netherlands.
