What would happen if you see your own brain?

Supposing a technology was invented that would make it possible to take your brain out and allow you to see it. It would still be connected to your body and all; in short, it would work as a normal brain, sans being inside your head. What would your reaction be when you see it?
What would you think? You could think - "Oh..that's the thing I do my thinking stuff with." and then realise that the "thing" is sitting there in front of it and it is saying about itself.

So...what are your ideas?
