i dont think he is laaled as the best cuz of his radio singles, encore, fallin off for 5 years and how unrelatable his msic to the entire black population in america. sounds kinda racist, but I think a black man fom the ghtto will listen to the black album before the eminem show 8 times outta 10

They will but why the hell should Em try and appeal to a black population? He makes music for people to enjoy. He doesnt go "this will sound nice for Asians", "ohhh I think whites will like that".

Eminem wrote:"I don't do black music, I dont do white music"

(Oh by the way, I'm not replying just to this post, llockhart, I've seen you post before that you think Em should appeal more to black people, I'm talking generally)

I dont think I ever said he should appeal more to black people, as much as he should get on some more hood beats. I think I know what posts you are talking about and the point I was trying to make was it would be difficult for him to jump on a hood track like "breathe" since it isnt his style, and it would be cool to see him do it. Not for the sake of hood folk listening to him, for the sake of broadening his horizons.

And again , in my post here I wasnt saying he should try to appeal to hood folk, I was making the point that he wont be labeled as the best ever because there is a huge majority of rap/hip-hop fans that just dont like eminem.

@Trinell - Whatever. Im speaking from experience. Im not an ignorant white person for acknowledging the fact that eminem doesnt appeal to most of the ghetto's...your an ignorant white person for assuming he does. Again, Im speaking from experience..having grown up in said setting...are you? Did you? If not then you really shouldnt have an opinion in the matter.

Now excuse me, my son is hungry

Ok, then tell me when the last time you were at a party and everyone was bumpin jeezy, wayne, and all them other bangers like wipe me down and shit, then a song from mmlp or Tes came on....

I dont know where your from, but i have never heard an eminem song played at a party or club or anything, only when im listening to it, or someone else is listening to it in their car or something....

at any rate. eminem will be looked at as ONE of the greats, but not THE GREAT because a black kid growin up in the hood livin off food stamps and sellin dope and part of a gang does not relate to him....and the hood decides who the best rapper is.

Yeah TES is my favorite album so far, and I don't think that's gonna change. But I hope Recovery can get to the second place in my list :y:

I usually think your an idiot but your right. I live in Brooklyn and Em gets no love at all. I am with mostly white friends, but they don't even listen to Eminem. But one thing that you did not mention. Even though most blacks don't listen to Eminem just because they don't relate much, 90% of people who give Em a try end up being a fan.

And its not all about relating to the artist or not. If you love hip-hop and the technique, effort, and heart put into it, Eminem will capture you as a fan sooner or later. Just depends on when the person decides to listen or not.

And about him being names the greatest of all time, I hate people who try and rate the rap greats when they do not listen to all the artists they rank or do not rank. An example would be that my friends say Lil Wayne is top 10 rapper all time, most saying top 5, or top 3. I would say Nas is sooo much better and they will argue with me that he is not, when they could not name 5 Nas songs. Ignorance.

And you didnt just "respond to my post with your experiences". You called me an ignorant white person....which is just asking for a fight. Especially with me.

And your right, Im a big pussy afraid of forum arguements. Go back to your ghetto hoodstar.

Lock, whites are far more populous in the world than blacks.
Isn't that actually Em's advantage if he appeals to the LARGER group?

So Eminem isn't one of the greatest because he's not a rapper that spends more time on making a chorus that gets stuck in your head so you have to buy the song or spends more time on the beat so that it's a "club banger"? Yeah... okay. :facepalm

@Trinell - Whos mad?

@GGGG - Eminem fans are not necessarily rap fans. And rap/hip hop community is who decides the best rapper/rappers of all time.

Example. Lil wayne has probably the biggest fan base next to eminem in hip hop...but will he be considered the best, or one of the best ever? Just because he appeals to a larger group doesnt mean he's the winner....

@Abolut - Im not saying he isnt one of the greatest. Personally, I think he is the best rapper ever. He's ten times better then big, and def. better than pac...and noone in the game right now is anywhere near him lyrically....BUT, the rap community will most likely see different....
