Agreed. In fact, I'd probably move that to 100%. They try too hard and it's embarassing watching them, and theres something about a women comedian's voice I hate.
I personally think Ellen Degeneres' stand up "Here and Now" is hilarious.

Will check it out.
Sarah Silverman is the only female comedian I've ever laughed at. And that's because she's twisted and ironic and doesn't do this feminist or anti-male, cliche' bullshit.
She's also Jewish though. Which is interesting as... In trying to think of legendary American comics, I found that the vast majority are either black or Jewish. OR Canadians that have moved into American comedy that many confuse as American.
I was thinking why this could be and I came up with... Due to a history of persecution, this creates more funny people as from a state of disarray; Deep-seething, self-deprecating comedic sensibilities seem to get born and honed better.
I mean just off the top...
- Richard Pryor / black
- Eddie Murphy / black
- Larry David / Jewish
- Matt Stone / Jewish
- Chris Rock (
not that funny but considered a comedy great by many) / black
- Woody Allen / Jewish
- Louis C.K. / Jewish (partially)
- Jamie Foxx / black
I mean the list goes on. There are of course some exceptions like Trey Parker and Robin Williams. But there are so many 'legendary' American comics that are black or Jewish lmao.
