No, it's a superb album.

B.o.B blends so many elements of rap, rock, soul, funk, everything... It's sublime. And lyrically, he's far and above many of the hyped up rappers in current circulation.

Most people just don't pay much attention to it because he's so musical and casual with it. But lines like...

"From the womb all the way to the grave I spit" and "To picture my life boy you need a higher resolution"

Are consistent and glaring throughout every song. He's consistently on top of his game and better than many acclaimed "lyricists". There's many shades to his writing though. Like Em, he can spin his personality on many webs, look through many lenses, show you different angles.

He can be witty, damning, expansive, silly, self-praising, self-deprecating, philosophical... Many things. His delivery is also spot-on and versatile. Entertaining, energetic, fast, slow, however you want it. And his hook-writing is just outstanding.

I haven't had the time to give it a proper listen, still need to dl it. A lot of people say it's good, but on the other hand, a lot of hardcore Hip Hop fans think it's not that good.

I'll see what B.o.B has to say with his debut, I'm going to listen to this album as open-minded as possible.

It's not he's just a retard that likes to pointlessly oppose any 'popular' view. So because 'most' people are praising B.o.B so much, he feels the inherent need to hate B.o.B and say he's shit.

It's natural. Many (myself included) sometimes do it with things like... Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter. But, I've matured out of it to a large extent and even when I do it, I can always justify it. It's never just aimless, I do usually... Genuinely dislike the thing.

So you mean, he likes more retro hip-hop. With harder beats and aggressive rhymes.

In reality, the term 'hardcore hip-hop' is redundant now. There's this weird, inherent feeling within rap that if you're not rapping depressively or aggressively about how shit life is, how violent you can get or how much you oppose everything that it's "fake" lmao.

B.o.B is hardcore hip-hop in the sense that he's lived and breathed it, understands it and embraces its most vital artistic elements. He doesn't have to be ranting about guns over thumping drums to be hardcore.

Strictly speaking though, he's not JUST hip-hop so people going into it wanting JUST hip-hop should know that. He likes many types of music and encompasses attributes of rock, soul, funk and more. He's also a serious vocalist and experimental musician. He's more than just a rapper.
