"But Encore just didn't have the caliber to match it"

Postby Jimmy Conway » Apr 23rd, '10, 17:30

No Em....it didn't. And I don't think people will ever see it as a good album. Why? Because it sucks. You didn't even try on it.

I do think that it will be said about Relapse. The accent and the serial killer stuff just throws people off. Everyone was expecting him to pick up where the Eminem Show left off. I think a few years from now people will see Relapse as a special album.

yeah....it's a message board with thousands of people. Some times simular topics will be talked about. Especially when the forum is about one person. It's OK to talk about things again. You don't have a unique and origanal conversation every time you talk to your friends. Sometimes you talk about things over and over.

Yes, but it doesnt need it's own topic. Theres hardly bucketloads of discussion that can be made from it.

That being said, CWYWF was a giant leap for every nitpicking Eminem fan, and Em shouldn't have said that.

Half of Encore was great, half of it was crap. I do see it as a classic album (in a weird way) though.

Em fucked up the song selection.

You are right. He shouldn't have. He said a couple more years it will be illmatic. He called a average at BEST album illmatic.

I think Relapse was pretty ballin though. :b:

Jimmy can't force Em recording Big Weenie. Em always has creative control over his project (except the first single)

That's not what I meant.

What I meant is, after Em records a certain amount of songs, Jimmy is the one who selects the ones that will make it on the album.

I could be wrong though.

You're wrong...I think I know where you're coming from though.

Jimmy Iovine doesn't select the songs. Eminem, and Dre (depending on the Executive Producer) select the song selection. Jimmy Iovine is the one who decides when the album is released. Now...if Em doesn't come up with a "First Single" caliber song, then Jimmy won't approve the release.

So, in a way, Iovine will help decide what goes on...but he doesn't do the track listing.
