In the "The Way I Am" book, Em said he never used these lyrics for anything:

Those and additional lyrics were used on What The Beat, am I right?

So, what was Em talking about saying he never used them?

Yeah, I've noticed that. He was just coming off drugs when he wrote The Way I Am. Maybe he forgot about "What the Beat"? That's all I can think of to explain it.

I reckon Em must have recorded it in the studio as kind of a throw-away verse but then either Em or someone in his camp sent it to Clue on a spur of the moment thing, this was around the time that Em needed to promote heavily still and what better way than to jump on a track with Meth!!

So I just think it was a case of it was a verse that he didnt really give a fuck about so it got used but he didnt really care that it did, it was just mixtape shit!!! - fucking sick verse though!!

I agree with this. Em would have recorded the verse but didnt know that it had been used. The same thing happened with Hellbound. Em didnt even know about this song until 2008.

I would agree other than the fact at the end of the song Em says, "It's just, Slim Shady and DJ Clue, I ain't evil, I just do what the beat say do"

So he must have known.

Clue might have asked for a verse that he might use. Em made it, sent it to him but didnt know that Clue used it. He was making so much music then and writing so many verses he might have not known what was used and wasnt.
