GoodGirlsGetGutted is probably our resident death metal (I think) fan.

Check out his threads in the "General Music" section.

All this stuff you call gay like Bullet for My Valentine, Avenged Sevenfold, Disturbed (even though they classify themselves as hard rock), Slipknot
But I also love stuff like Job For A Cowboy, Suicide Silence, Winds of Plague, As I Lay Dying, All That Remains, Iwrestledabearonce.
Or are you talking about stuff like Judas Priest, Ozzy, Sabbith, Iron Maiden? Cause I like all of that too.
METAL RULES!!!

I love pretty much everything you listed  except the first few, but personal opinion...

As I Lay Dying's new album is amazing...and I'm seeing Iron Maiden and Dream Theater in like 2 weeks

I don't want to offend anyone's taste, but deathcore is a fad.
80's - Hair/glam metal (RIP)
90's - Grunge (RIP)
Early 21st century - Nu metal (RIP)
Mid 2000's to present - Metalcore/deathcore

That shit's on its way out.

I'm into fast, brutal, filthy death metal, like
Disgorge
Brodequin
Skinless
Autopsy
Nunslaughter
Pungeant Stench
Liturgy
Bloodbath
Cinerary
Vader
Hypocrisy
Gorgasm
Vomitory
Hour of Penance
Suffocation
Sepsism
Bolt Thrower
Master
Crimson Thorn
Nasum
etc.

I just like it punishing and relentless.. and poseur-free.

Honestly thrash metal is my favorite...people like Evile are still keepin it alive...Endgame ain't half bad neither, and World Painted Blood was good too...as far as metalcore goes, its pretty sick too, but i'm a guitarist...when i listen to metal i hear guitar first, every thing else in a far off second, except for vocals, which are usually on my radar too...metalcore has some damn interesting and damn skilled guitarists in it (Unearth, All That Reamins)

I'm a guitarist as well.
If you like thrash, you must have heard Heathen's new album, "The Evolution of Chaos", right?

What a masterpiece!!!
