Most mainstream fans think M&M when they here Eminem, as in the candy, and don't realize it's his initials...a rapper named after a candy? Leaves the same impression...

In the movie they said he got that nickname cause he had big ears as a kid.. makes sense to me. And if you're a lyrical genius your name could be Mr. Shitstain and people still wouldn't be able fuck with you.
But they might of also used that name as a way to make him look like more of a underdog for the storyline.
