Would u be listning to hip hop if there was no Eminem.

Sometimes it seems that people forget the very essense of wat we call hip hop. Feels like the white suburban kids only started to listen to hip hop coz of EM. Lets say there was no eminem and u would have come across a song from The Roots or someone like Daddy Kane, would u listen to hip? Are u just a fan of Eminem or is it really hip hop u fell in love with?

Well, i think i wouldt listen to it but not as much as now, actually Eminem is one of the first rappers i heard of, if there was no Eminem, i probobly continue listening to: 'Grunge' 'Hardcore Rock' and 'House'.
But yhea thanks to Eminem i listen to other rappers...

And the reason for that is: Hip hop is just not as popular in my country as it is in America.... example: 'Trick Trick's cd still isn't in stores here...
Glenfiddich Single Malt Whisky
Eminem
Nirvana
VW Golf GTI
Painting & Paint
^^^^^^ Basically my intrests

i listen hip-hop very long now (about 7 years) and i only start listening more to Eminem and D12 since 2002.......before that i listened to all kinda hip-hop 2Pac,Biggie,Nas,Gangstarr,NWA,Rakim,Wu-Tang, and i can go on and on and i still listen to all of them......so for me Eminem is not the person who introduced me to hip-hop......but the last years i listen more to Detroit rap....just because i like their style(Obie,D12,Runyon Ave,Purple Gang,Trife Life, and ofcourse Em still.. :smoking: )

It was either Em or Nelly that introduced me to hip hop but if there was no Em i would still listen to hip hop cause there are other artists out there that are just as or more talented than him such as tupac, dre, and biggie.

it was Eminem who introduced me to hip hop and i'm really proud that i listen to rap now. if there was no Eminem, i'd prolly listen to rap anyway. tho i'd start from polish rap and then try to listen to US. now i don't listen to Eminem that much as i used to do when i took up listening to rap, tho it doesn't mean i don't like him anymore. i just want to listen to other artists too.. :p

Eminem introduced me to hip hop, cause he was quite popular here 5 yrs ago, when i started to listen to rap. it didn't changed much - when i say 'NWA', 80% of ppl are like "wtf are you talking about?" - so don't blame Eminem for introducing white kids to rap :p

hmm.. if there was no eminem i probably wont be into hip hop as much as i am now coz his music got me into rap... and bcoz of him i love hip hop and i am constantly looking for new hip hop songs everyday

and before listening to eminem and hip hop...i was listening to pop like BSB and nsync....

so im grateful that eminem made it big as a rapper
