So Bad

Postby Tomega » Jun 8th, '10, 14:52

Well, I like to talk about this song.

First, Dre did it again. The horns and the easy listening flow of the piano (melody is the same as Must Be The Ganja) are great.

Chorus is one of the best of Recovery

And I am totally bumping and vibing to this song. What do you think?

Scary thing is I think it is a leftover from Relapse.

agreed.. i'm actually kinda dissapointed em went with all these new producers on recovery. problem with relapse was the lyrics, not the beats. most of the beats on recovery are pretty wack IMO, but the album is great as a whole and better than i expected. but if em put these lyrics to dre beats it'd be even better.
My songs can make you cry, take you by surprise
And at the same time, make you dry your eyes with the same rhyme
See what you're seeing is a genius at work
Which to me isn't work, so it's easy to misinterpret it at first,
Cuz when i speak, it's tongue in cheek
I'd yank my fuckin teeth before id ever bite my tongue
I'd slice my gums, get struck by fuckin' lightning twice at once

Fantastic chorus. Song overall was 'ehh'.

EDIT: Listening to this again, it's class.

Em really did get the balance between comedy tracks, lyrically class songs and emotional songs perfect.

It's alright. To me a lot of what he makes with Dre is starting to just sound recycled, whether it really is or not (and if it is the same melody as Must Be The Ganja, then it is).

That's why you can almost 100% of the time tell it's a Dre beat, they always sound similar.

I'm not saying Dre isn't a great producer, I'm just saying Relapse gave an overflow of it.. If it had been a mixture of production, I probably wouldn't be bored of "On Fire"

On fire is produced by Mr. Porter... sounds like a Dre beat mind.

I can see why people think his beats sound similar due to the heavy drums but I felt that there was a great mixture of beats on Relapse; beats such as 3 am, crack a bottle, Bagpipes from Baghdad, Same song and dance, Insane, Underground etc. definitely don't sound alike.

As for So bad. I'm not really feeling it. His delivery somehow bores me and I found the lyrics a bit lame.

My love has got you so blinded you couldn't pick Amy Winehouse out of a lineup

This was probably the funniest part and I'm not even laughing.

That line was sick as fuck.

Soon as you wrote your number on this napkin I was bound to a number on your back and throw your spine out of alignment/My love has got you so blind that you couldn't pick Amy Winehouse out of a line-up
